Welcome to The 1888, located in downtown Newberg, Oregon. Known as the gateway to Oregon's wine country, this property is located in the heart of Newberg within walking distance to the historic Cameo Theatre, restaurants, wine tasting, shops, and George Fox University. The classic 99W Drive-In is right down the street. Newberg has so much to offer, as does The 1888.
From the moment you walk in, you are visually transported to another time, from the beautiful antique period-correct furnishings, crystal chandeliers, and 15-foot ceilings adorned with grand solid wood beams to the stunning original brick, time-worn hardwood floors, and built-ins with stained and leaded glass. There is an understated elegance at every turn.
Take a step back in time with this historic property. With the attempt to honor the integrity, beauty, and history of this unique building, you will notice as many of the original features of these 136-year-old lofts as possible, with much charm contained within the authentic porcelain sinks and tile, embossed brass hardware and hinges, original doors and doorknobs, and authentic antique decor. Completed with a few new elements to enhance the beauty, wainscoting, and fresh paint throughout, including new tile and new fixtures where the originals could not be saved. The gentle remodel of this building was a true labor of love as it is an important part of Newberg’s history. Your stay here will be a memorable, one-of-a-kind experience.
We hope you will embrace the history, the feel, and the uniqueness of this amazing property and step back in time with us at The 1888.

Due to the age of this building and the antique furniture, pets are not allowed. Also, because of the age of the building, there are no elevators and no handicap accessibility.
