Great hotel. Felt really safe and close to attractions. The hotel restaurant wasn’t so great. Food wasn’t very good and poor service. The room was nice. Very comfortable pillows but the coffee area had no lighting and no water was provided.

Our room was in back, so it was quiet at night. The place was clean but looked a little worn. Room was stocked with coffee, various alcohols and chocolates, which was nice. Staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful. Location was great. The Reading Room restaurant was very good. There was a nice breakfast place nextdoor that was a grab and go convenience. Only thing I didn't care for was the was room for a comfortable chair, but the desk chair was all that was available.

We had a great getaway! The hotel is beautiful and the restaurant, the Reading Room, is amazing! The place was a perfect location for our excursions. We walked to a show and hopped on the subway to see galleries in SoHo. Highly recommended the Gotham!

Great place for everything New York!! In walking distance of many things including Central Station for the subway . We enjoyed the balcony across the hall from our room every night. Room service is fast and hot. New York is a loud and busy place so the room is quiet until some emergency vehicles go blaring by. Our nights sleep was interrupted sometimes. Overall we would stay again. It’s clean and safe.

Gotham is so convenient to Grand Central Terminal and Lex subway line…and - you can walk a couple blocks from there to the hotel rolling your suitcase. We booked a standard room and were offered an upgrade to king size bed and balcony larger room for $39 a couple days before, which we took. Great room and bathroom, all clean and orderly. People are very nice and helpful and the Reading Room restaurant/bar has excellent breakfast. Room rates are very reasonable for midtown NY hotel. We will be back regularly.
