We booked a one-night stay through Expedia for over $500, excited for our first New Year’s Eve in Times Square, but the experience was awful. Roadblocks made reaching the hotel nearly impossible, and when we called for help, we were told, “No refunds, figure it out.” Parking was a nightmare, and my husband had to argue with an officer just to unload our luggage.
At check-in, the receptionist was rude and dismissive, more focused on complaining about her commute than assisting us. Our room, behind the elevator near the lobby, was noisy all night. When we asked for a room change, we were told the hotel was fully booked.
The view from our window was plywood flooring covered in confetti and caged HVAC units—a disturbing sight for my 6- and 8-year-old children. Breakfast ended at 9:30 AM, but no one told us, and they refused a late checkout without charging $75.
The service was terrible, the accommodations were not worth the price, and I will never stay at a Marriott again.
