On the third floor of a hundred years old brownstone, la Maison des Sirenes is perfect for anybody appreciating style and comfort. Affordable but not 'cheap', La Maison des Sirenes is well dressed!!! The apartment was decorated with taste and I meticulously picked every single of furnitures myself. This is the first apartment I ever rented as a vacation rental(August 2007).

It is located on one of the most coveted block of Bedstuy(tree lined). It features a master bedroom,an antique clawfoot bathroom, fully equipped Tuscan style kitchen,dining room,living room and an amazing bamboo lined deck with table,umbrella and seats .Perfect for barbecue in summer,sun bathing brunches on weekends or simply relaxing.
Most importantly the apartment is a few stations away from Manhattan. Keep in mind this is not a newly renovated apartment. It is very cosy and shows signs of age. It is a home and people Love it!
NYC OCCUPANCY TAXES ARE NOT INCLUDED AND ARE DUE UPON ARRIVAL IN CASH. Required by the city on less than 180 days rentals,they are 5.875% +$2/night.

Bedstuy used to be known for its motto 'do or die' . Not anymore!!!! Now it is best known for its incredibly beautiful Brownstone. It was fearures recentlt in the Time Out magazine as ' one of the best neighbourhood ' of NYC.The strong community and abundant beautiful brownstone townhouses contribute to its growth and charm. New cafes,restaurants,bakeries ,boutique ,galleries nd wine bars are sprouting everywhere receiving much attention by Zagat, time out,NY magazines and blogs. A diverse mix of students,hipsters,artists,crative professionals,architects and attorneys of all races continue to move to the neighbourhood.
The area is serviced well by the A abd C train with commute times 15 mn to lowervManhattan and 30 mn to midtown.(times square).
Bedstuy was home to famous artists such as Notorious BIG,Lil Kim,Mos Def,Chris rock,,poet June Jordan and activist Hattie Carthan. Bedstuy streets are often represented in media : Spike lee movies, MIA music video.....
There is a strong sense of pride being part of Bedstuy and being its pioneers.

Wonderful stay
Well what can one say, I think Sara and I are still pinching ourselves as the apartment was perfect. We arrived at the ungodly hour of 2am due to a US customs backlog but were still greeted by a very sleepy but charming Nathalie, who proceeded to show us round the apartment. And how delightful to find not only fresh flowers but a bottle of champagne in the fridge. The apartment is beautiful and the pictures on the web page do not do it justice. Not only was it tastefully furnished and decorated but it had the added bonus of a roof garden too. The location was good only a stones throw (10 mins walk) from Kingston/Throop on the E (15 mins Manhattan) with convenience stores aplenty. We had a wonderful time and loved the apartment so much we had to force ourselves to go out and for two shopaholics thats saying something! Thanks again Nathalie for all your help and local knowledge. We've told al our friends and families and will definitely be staying again.

Schöne Wohnung ca. 10min zu Fuß von der U-Bahn Richtung Manhattan entfernt. Die Wohnung war sauber und die Kommunikation hat gut geklappt. Die Gegend empfanden wir als sehr sicher. Für längere Aufenthalte gut geeignet.

LOVE IT!!
The perfect stay. Cute places close by and overall safe feeling. Subway is near and easy to access. The place is absolutely adorable and has such a cozy vintage vibe. Beds were comfy and WiFi was good. Host was so catering and super quick with responses. I have zero complaints and would visit again!

Our Vrbo stay was excellent. The neighborhood was great. I felt safe at night walking home with my family. The apartment was charming and clean and the host was available to address problems we had with the apartment immediately. I would definitely stay there again.

Charming stay in Brooklyn
I was debating between staying in a hotel or short-term rental and am so glad I booked this spot. If you are looking for a local’s experience of New York, this is the place! I enjoyed getting to know the neighborhood and had easy access to the subway to get into Manhattan. The host was very friendly and had great recommendations. I would consider booking here again the next time I visit New York.

Très bonne adresse pour passer un séjour à New York
La maison des sirènes est bien située, à 7 mn à pieds du métro C local. Pour l'aéroport JFK, il faut compter 1h15 métro + airtrain environ avec un changement entre ligne A et C pour desserte de l'arrêt Kingston throop. Pour Manhattan, environ 30 mn selon où on veut aller. Ce petit éloignement de l'hyper centre permet des tarifs plus avantageux et de gagner en calme, par contre il ne faut pas prévoir de repasser à l'appartement dans la journée quand on part en visite L'appartement est confortable pour une famille avec le nécessaire pour cuisiner sur place et des commerces à proximité permettent de faire quelques courses. Le budget restaurant devenant vite élevé à NY, ça permet de réduire un peu. Nathalie est disponible, heureusement car les premiers jours nous ne sommes pas arrivés à ouvrir la porte du bas à cause d'un verrou bloqué et nous avons pu la joindre facilement (nous avions pris avant de partir une carte sim USA) Le dernier jour, il est possible de laisser ses bagages dans le hall avant de repartir, c'est très appréciable. Je recommande vivement cet emplacement, en plus nathalie parle français ce qui peut aider !

Sehr schönes, stimmungsvolles Apartment für 2-4 Personen, für NY Verhältnisse sehr ruhige Lage, ideal um sich nach einem Erlebnisreichen Tag in Manhattan zu erholen. Dies war bereits unser zweiter und sicher nicht der letzte Aufenthalt. Sehr empfehlenswert!!

Appartement et quartier agréables
L'appartement correspond à la description et est relativement agréable à utiliser. Ce n'est pas le top confort mais globalement tout y est : bonne literie, de quoi cuisiner simplement, la clim, de quoi repasser... Le quartier est sympa, les stations de métro sont proches et desservent Manhattan en 20 à 30 min selon la destination. Il est possible de faire ses courses (fruits, légumes et spécialités locales !!!) à quelques minutes à pieds et de laver ses vêtements aux laveries proches. En 2 mots, bonne location dans un quartier qui gagne à être visité. Les habitants sont accueillants !

appartement typique sur Brooklyn idéalement placé
Petit appartement typique et calme sur Brooklyn avec une super terrasse où nous avons passé de super moments en famille. L’appartement est idéalement placé près d’une station de métro à 30 minutes de Manathan. Nathalie la propriétaire est avenante. Les infos qu’elle nous a données pour notre arrivée, nous a évité de nous perdre. Merci Nathalie et en plus on peut laisser nos bagages pour profiter de notre dernière journée. Je recommande !!
