Do not book here!!!!! We booked 3 months in advance. 3-5 days before our stay, there still weren’t any access directions. I’ve been using vrbo at least once/year since 2017 and have always been able to view access directions in advance. I messaged the host a couple of times and even called over the course of 36 hours. I received no response. I wasn’t about to just show up with my husband and your young children. After a few hours on the phone with vrbo and depending answers, they told me the host double booked us. Then I had less than 24 hours to find another place to stay in NYC that could accommodate a family of 6 (including 4 young children). Vrbo was no help in finding a suitable accommodation. They did send me an email that they will credit me up to $1300 to find a new place. I will be sending in my receipts this week, and I truly hope we are completely reimbursed for this major inconvenience! We ended up crammed in a hotel room near Times Square instead of in this apartment on the upper east side as options that last minute were very limited. We made the best of our trip, but I’m still very disappointed. While I was on the phone with vrbo, the one and only review for this place came through stating the host “double booked” another family a couple weeks prior. I truly hope vrbo will take this listing down or suspend this host until this issue is resolved. How many families in this situation will it take? I have only had extremely positive experiences prior to this.

We got double booked - Host did a good job helping to resolve the situation but what a nightmare!
Somehow our accommodation was double booked. I arrived in New York City with my wife and 3 kids for the NYC marathon and found out our apartment was double booked. The host refunded our trip and could only find a place for us to stay for one night. I called VRBO and they said to book a hotel and they would give me a credit. This was a very stressful situation to deal with a family of 3 little kids in tow, plus a marathon to run the day after. I was considering acting with the host all the way up to event so was very shocked to find out we were double booked.
