Very small lobby, the room was so noisy , people are screaming and slapping the doors . Our room with one king bed was extremely small . The stuff though are do professionals and so nice ones . The location is great close to the bus terminal.

I am not happy with my stay at Double Tree by Hilton, New York. I had paid for breakfast to be included with my booking through Expedia but when I checked in, the staff member at the desk told me that I couldn't have the breakfast I had paid for because I had booked through a third party (Expedia) and that I could pay for the breakfast or I should take up the matter with Expedia. There was no attempt to rectify the situation or enquire with a manager about the issue even though I had stated that I had prepaid for breakfast when booking. I contacted Expedia via their live chat and the customer service agent at Expedia was very helpful. They phoned the hotel to confirm that I had already paid for the breakfast and it should be included. The hotel had the Expedia service agent on hold for over 25mins before they could speak to someone. The service agent confirmed that the hotel agreed they had made a mistake and the breakfast was included. There was no apology from the member of staff at check in or any other member of staff at the hotel for the extra stress this issue had caused. After breakfast the next morning a member of the restaurant staff presented me with a bill. I told them I had prepaid for breakfast and that I had been given a breakfast voucher which I had given to their colleague. I do not understand why this hotel kept on insisting I pay for a breakfast that I had already paid for. I am not happy with my experience at this hotel and would not recommend.

The room is a little small, but enough for a couple. All the staff were very helpful and polite. The area has some options for shopping and for visiting tourist areas, not quite though (it’s Times Square). There is a metro station nearby. I would stay again!

Relatively good location for someone who wants to explore New York and for JFK connection (near Penn. Station). However, the area isn't the best, the room is so small which meant we couldn't open our luggage anywhere but on pur bed, the view is just within a coutyard so basically you see just a wall and everything looks grey even in full sunshine and we kept finding disgusting left over food outside our door. Finally, our neighbours kept waking up in the middle of the night with incredibly loud bangs of door and laughs.

Great location, 10min walk from Times Square. Round the corner from Macy’s and Hudson yard. There’s a subway stop 1minute walk away which can take you uptown and downtown or even to JFK. The room was very clean, super comfy bed and very nice shower. Blackout blind was fabulous. We were on a high floor and you could only hear noise if it was a fire truck going past. But other than that, it was silent. The room was also bigger than we were expecting. Rooms in New York can be very small but we had plenty of space. However a couple of coat hooks wouldn’t go a miss… We had breakfast included which was great. Plenty of options to get you started. Just don’t go around 7:30/8 as there will probably be a small queue. So we recommend going before or after that. It was clear there was not enough staff on breakfast as they were rushing around and tables wouldn’t get cleared and food wouldn’t get replenished which caused the queue. So I would love to see the hotel employ extra staff for breakfast which would ease the pressure. Staff on reception were great, very welcoming, checked us in within 5mins of arrival and were very helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again in the future.

Stayed three nights in October in a twin room with my teenage son. You really don't get more central in NYC than this. Very busy on the street of course but the room itself was quiet. Staff are super friendly on reception - and the cookie you'll read in other reviews is tasty after a long trip. It was very expensive - but no more so than anywhere else in NYC. Was an easy and short walk with suitcases to Penn Station.
