Worth for the money
This place is fit enough for five of us (we have three teenage daughters). It's a quiet and safe area, also easy access to subway. We drove from Canada & parked our car on the street. One day we took subway & left our car on the street all day & night, and the car was still there untouched. We always went home very late around 2 am and it was still safe. Kim and John are friendly, we will recommend this place to our friends.

This place needs to be taken off of the website. It was dirty and the host was not very welcoming or friendly. There was black mold on the walls and water damage on the ceiling. VRBO had to move us for safety reasons.

A warm home away from home
We enjoyed this brownstone neighborhood, with a lot of beautiful trees, neighbors are friendly. Ten minutes walk to the subway station with the express A train to Manhattan in about 15 minutes. There are different cuisine eateries close by. We enjoyed the diversity of the neighborhood. The studio is spacious enough for the two of us. It is nice and warm in the studio and makes it a good home away from home. We stayed for a month, during the middle of our stay, one night there were three or four people gathered in front of the main door and chatted all night and kept us awake. The next day we talked to John's son, Anthony who lives down stair of our apartment and he said he will talk to them. We are glad that this is just one night incident. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Thanks to Anthony who promptly took care of the tv cable box which failed couple of times during our stay.

Spacious suite close to subway
I stayed for a month while starting a new job in Manhattan and enjoyed my time here. The suite is spacious, well maintained and has all the utensils and kitchenware needed for cooking. It is a short walk to the subway station and bus stops which makes the rest of the city accessible. It’s also generally pretty quiet for New York which is nice to unwind after busy days. I got along well with the other residents of the building and they offered suggestions for lots of the great small businesses in the area. All in all it’s a great intro to New York. Thanks John!

Exactly what we were looking for!
This was our second stay at John’s property, and we enjoyed it just as much as the first time. It’s a beautiful brownstone, on a lovely block. A very short walk to the subway, a short ride to Manhattan. An even closer walk to a 24 hr shop, Taco Bell, KFC & the best $1 slice of pizza you’ll find in NYC. (Quick, cheap eats when traveling with kids) The neighborhood felt safe, never had any concerns walking with my teenagers late at night. The beds were comfortable. Bathroom was clean. Kitchen was more than sufficient. The price was very competitive and fair. John is a super nice guy & very accommodating. We will definitely be back for a third stay!

Leider nicht das was es verspricht
Da wir leider länger als gedacht zum Apartment gebraucht haben, konnte John persönlich leider nicht da sein. Wir sollten ihn anrufen wenn wir da sind. Leider ging er nicht sofort dran und wir standen ca 15. Minuten vor der Tür. Eigentlich alles kein Problem. Oben angekommen waren wir aber geschockt. Es war total dreckig. Schmutzige Spiegel, Bad nicht geputzt, Haare und Staub unterm Bett, Kühlschrank eklig und es kam einem so vor allem wären die Bilder 6 Jahre alt und alles was mal kaputt gegangen ist wurde mit Tape geklebt (Ofen?) oder einfach so gelassen (Fliese an der Wand fehlte am Bad).... Nach mehreren Telefonaten die uns sehr viel Geld, Zeit und Nerven gekostet haben hat er dann aber jemand geschickt der nochmal sauber machte, die Dame gab ihr bestes aber wirklich sauber war es danach Leider nicht (es war ja auch schon spät abends und sie konnte daher nur eine begrenzte Zweit putzen). Und nachdem wir ihn mehrmals direkt darauf angesprochen haben hat er uns aber zum glück eine Nacht und die Reinigungsgebühren erstattet. Das Haus ist außerdem sehr hellhörig und die Heizung wirkt nicht sehr vertrauenswürdig. Die Lage hat uns aber überhaupt nicht gestört da auch die Anbindung nach Manhatten super ist. Empfehlen würden wir die Unterkunft aber nicht. Unser Urlaub hat leider nicht gut gestartet.

Appartement au 1er étage, cuisine équipée il y a tout sur place. Lits à peine petits si vous ne dormez pas en couple mais ça passe pour les vacances. Belle salle de bain. Propriétaire réactif si problème et arrangeant. Nous avons passé un bon séjour. Le classeur qui réunit tout les commerces du quartier et les infos est une super idée. Métro bleu à 5minutes à pied. Métro vert à 10minutes. Pleins de commerces et de supermarché à proximité. Serviettes et draps sur place. Appartement bien chauffé. Nous avons passé un bon séjour. Négatif : assez bruyant et lumière le matin, faut s'habituer. Coup de balai à passer à l'arrivée.

El lugar está ok para dormir.... ellos dan palos, pero nunca te los cambian en toda la estadía. No dan papel higiénico, tenéis que comprar...! Y la limpieza es lo que me disgustó, primero se nota que nunca sacuden y cuando uno está ahí nadie llega a limpiar ni barrer... es más en un pequeño armario está todo para que uno limpie... y cuando uno está de vacasiones lo que menos piensa es en asear uno mismo. Por lo demás... las camas están ok. El lugar ok... pero si prestaran un poco más de atención sería mejor! Esta muy deteriorado. A dormir e irse!

Ideal Spot on a Budget
This apartment was perfect for two colleagues and myself to travel to NYC for a few days on a budget. Though it is not in the touristy part of NYC, nor is it necessarily the prettiest neighborhood, the building and neighborhood have a lot of history and character. Additionally, it's not too far from the Nostrand subway terminal, and then you're off! My biggest/only complaint about the property is the parking. It is street (parallel) parking only, and it has alternate sides enforced (though we got lucky for the holiday). Otherwise, it was a great stay!

Insgesamt war die Ferienwohnung ok, allerdings war es abends teilweise sehr laut. Das Haus ist sehr hellhörig. Die Betten waren leider nicht so gut. Die Lage der Wohnung, mit einer kurzen Entfernung zur Metro ist gut. Lebensmittelgeschäfte und Restaurants sind fussläufig gut zu erreichen. John und seine Familie waren sehr nett.

Appartement très bien situé a 10 mn du métro quartier sympathique thypique New Yorkais. 20/25 minutes pour se rendre a Time squares. L appartement comprend tout le nécessaire. Communication avec John sans soucis et notre arrivé était tardive et cela n a posé aucun soucis. Merci beaucoup. Très beau séjour a New york.

Bon séjour
Nous avons passé un très bon séjour à Brooklyn. Notre arrivée était tardive mais cela n'a posé aucun problème. Le quartier est sûr et typique. Le métro Nostrand est à une dizaine de minutes à pied. Les escaliers sont raides donc pour monter les valises ce n'est pas évident! Arrivées là-haut nous avons été ravies de l'appartement agréable et d'une taille très correcte, équipé du nécessaire. Nous recommandons cet appartement pour votre séjour à New York!

Un très bon séjour…
L'appartement à des petits défauts (pas dramatique), mais très bien situé géographiquement. Des problèmes d'insonorisations à la fenêtre qui dérengeront les plus sensibles, la porte d'entrées qui se ferme juste avec un verrou (pas de poignée serrure) donc, un jour de 2 cm… (elle sera peut être réparé d'ici là), ça c'était pour les petits défauts… Les couchages sont bons, la cuisine est fonctionnelle et la salle de bain rien à dire. L'immeuble et l'appartement est dans son authentique jus Brooklynien. Il est très bien situé, à 10 mn à pieds de l'entrée du métro "Nostrand avenue" qui vous mènera à Manhattan sud en 15 mn et à 5 mn du Bus B26 si vous voulez vous balader localement. John est à votre écoute le long du séjour.

Very nice and close to the subway.
Overall everything was nice and clean. The heaters worked really well. This apartment is on the second floor which came as a surprise. Getting used to all the noises out side took a little time. Totally recommend this place and would be willing to go back again as well.

Bon séjour à New York hôte disponible et très professionnel appartement conforme à la description a moins de 10 minutes du métro pour manathan le quartier est calme et sûr aucun problème même lors de retours tardif près du foodtown pour les courses en résumé très bon séjour à New York avec une population agréable et serviable je garderais un souvenir agréable des new yorkais et recommande cet appartement pour se sentir comme a la maison le soir Un grand merci à John pour son aide concernant le transfert pour l'aéroport
