City Cabin
Our little self-contained cabin is set on a small private section in the quiet neighbourhood just minutes by foot from New Plymouth's magnificent Pukekura Park. Surrounded by trees and garden, it has a private bedroom with a shower and toilet attached. Next door a separate conservatory space has a kitchen sink (along with kettle, microwave, toaster and hot plate), a cafe table and chairs and a chaise longue. It looks on to our house and garden. We have a friendly medium sized dog as well as chickens. We need our visitors to be vaccinated as we have people in our family who are immune compromised

Pretty little cabin with 2 rooms and a little verandah
Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
Accommodation was excellent. Would have been great if it was mentioned in the initial advertisement that you have to park in the street, there is no parking at the Accommodation.
Convenient location close to Pukekura Park, small cabin in garden setting. Comfortable bed and ensuite, kitchen facilities separate and fairly minimal for self catering.
We had a lovely 3 night getaway here. Very close to Pukekura Park and an easy commute by car or e.bike into town. The gardens at the property were gorgeous and Shirley and her family were available but not intrusive.
Would recommend this accommodation.
small but very accomodating towards our dog gem very hot in kitchen as roof was nova light the sun just pilted down slept with all doors open shower was amazing
The accommodation was small but self-contained and comfortable for a short stay. Hosts were very friendly and were on hand to provide helpful advice on things to see and do. Lovely little garden and sunny spot with a friendly dog! Great location to be based for access to Pukekura park and the city.
We were made to feel relaxed and comfortable with our informal and helpful hosts. The property is unique and reflects their eclectic tastes. We enjoyed staying there very much.
This is a lovely quiet batch, basic amenities, pleasant owners, would make an amazing place to stay if you have booked into an activity such as Womad at Brooklands. Enjoyed the sounds of the birds on the roof of kitchen area.
Just needed a base while visiting family.
Took my small dog with me and it was great. Very friendly couple. A little odd the bedroom with ensuite was seperate from the conservatory that had the kitchen so you had to go outside to move between the 2 rooms. However it worked for my needs.
Perfect for our event at the Bowl of Brooklands. Shirley the host, is really friendly. The accommodation itself is perfect for a single or couple. All you need for a short getaway.
Lovely gardens and Lola the dog is so cute!
Only suggestion is for a pair of scissors for the kitchen area please.
We would love to come back and stay again next time we are in New Plymouth. Thank you
We had a great stay at the city cabin. Shirley was a wonderful host who was proactive and responsive in her communication. The property is very nice and has a wonderful garden. Would definitely recommend.
Was really great to have a place next to Brooklands for dog walking and being able to bring the dog with us
accomodation fairly cramped but fine for a few days. Great hosts.
Cosy little bedroom with ensuite, and lovely sunroom/kitchenette entered by an external door very close by. Lovely back-section garden with trees, birds, vege patch, hens and a friendly dog. Good parking. We enjoyed several chats with the friendly hosts who have interest in the arts and gardening as we also do.
I had a lovely short holiday and enjoyed the close proximity to the amazing world class Pukekura park. Great for cycling and walking distance to the city center . Very friendly helpful host and quiet street.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shirley and Dave's wee bach. It had everything we needed, and is set in a beautiful garden space with plenty of birds enjoying kowhai and other offerings. Shirley and Dave are easygoing, hospitable hosts, and both very interesting people. Thanks again
Wonderful quiet little spot near necessities and Pukehura Park. Shirley and Mark were great hosts. We especially loved the tip about the evening testing of the lights for the Festival of the Lights as we won’t be in NP when it starts in a few days. And as berry growers from the US, we liked finding out where we could get “the best berries in New Zealand”. Thanks for a wonderful stay in a wonderful part of New Zealand!
Tucked away on a beautiful property up a shared driveway. A lovely one bedroom self contained bungalow, kitchen is separate, set on your own little wooden deck, overlooking the hosts garden. Private and perfect for a get away for a weekend. Small dogs are welcome. Hosts have a lovely dog, very sweet personality. Parking is on the street. Stay was perfect, will definitely visit again.
