Guests can stroll through the orchard (at harvest) with a selection of apple, peach, pear, apricot, and cherry trees.

This stunning home is perfect for vacations, extended stays, events, reunions, retreats, and weekend get-aways 12 months a year. A gem, A lovely house with exceptional hosts.
Beautifully renovated old farm house on the banks of the Wallkill River. With the modern addition, there was plenty of room for our 9 family members with lots of interesting spaces to explore. We particularly enjoyed the firepit with plenty of seating for everyone, the many different tree species and the view. The farm sits in a bend of the river with open vistas for watching wildlife or just resting your eyes. We arrived just in time to meet the owners as they were leaving. They had come to help the cleaning lady and make sure it was perfect. My wife says it was the cleanest place we have ever rented.

Very special property
This house is beautifully situated, with lovely views out all the windows. The house has the character and charm of an old house with modern amenities. Our group was very comfortable, we cooked all our meals and enjoyed the fireplace. There is plenty of room to spread out, inside and outside. I highly recommend staying here!

Splendid
Firstly, Linda is simply a marvelous host! Further, Bontecue farm is so beautiful and stocked with everything we could possibly need. This was the perfect place to host my moms surprise birthday party with all our family, my mom had no idea the entire family was coming and the farm setting and views were splendid. We were all able to enjoy a great respite from our daily lives and recharge in the serenity and tranquilness that is Bontecue farm. If you are thinking about staying here, I highly recommend it !! P.S. Pepacton reservoir has a scenic road along the water, that we thoroughly enjoyed.

A Perfect Sanctuary for a Perfect Thanksgiving
Our family of 8 thoroughly enjoyed this cozy and beautiful home. We loved the simple elegance of the furnishings and the effort to retain the historical character of the farmhouse. The kitchen was well supplied with cookware and niceties such as salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, saran wrap, etc. We really appreciated two living room spaces so that the younger generation could watch shows that appealed to them in a separate space while the adults hung out in a different room. The laundry machine was an added bonus since we had been on the road traveling and needed to freshen up some soiled articles. We also enjoyed watching birds along the river through the stunning big windows, walking the nearby dirt road, and taking excursions into New Paltz. We're hoping to return next year! You won't regret staying here.

Perfect fall getaway
We were immediately mesmerized by this beautiful property and charming home! Our family of 8 adults had plenty of space to gather together and also spread out as needed. Loved the picture windows overlooking the river and field! Even saw two young bald eagles (we think) perched in the trees! The full-sized beds were firm and comfortable. The large fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs was a wonderful place to congregate in the evening. Linda and Tom were extremely welcoming and helpful hosts. Our family would love to go back!

The most beautiful place!
We went with our in-laws and kids and it was fantastic! The house is large, the living rooms comfortably and beautifully decorated, and beds very comfy (on the firmer side, which we like). Beautiful large windows gave us great light and beautiful views. The kids had a ball running around outside on the property and jumping in the leaves. The owner checked in with us via text and was nice to chat with. We would definitely be back!

The photos don’t do this property justice. The home was immaculate with plenty of room to spread out. There’s also plenty of outdoor seating and even a fire pit compete with firewood. The trails through the fields were amazing which made for great morning walks. There was no reason to leave the property. Highly recommend!

Great home and location!
My husband and I stayed on this property with our 2-yr old son and had a lovely time. Linda was great and made check in easy. The home is clean, charming, and comfortable with lots of windows overlooking the farm and river. We really enjoyed the setting---it felt relaxing, but was still close to downtown New Paltz. We were here in October during fall foliage season, which was a great time to visit.

Extraordinary Get-Away Haven
We are a group of 4 women who periodically get away together to reconnect and celebrate our enduring and precious friendship. We decided to look for a rental in the vicinity of Mohonk Mountain because it played a special role in the life of one of our party. It was our great good fortune to land on Bontecou Farm in our Home Away search . . . we could not have dreamed up a more perfect home with a more caring, accommodating and delightful owner. The farmhouse is a perfect jewel box of charm and comfort. Linda’s exquisite taste in furnishings and decor extend to the tiniest detail - from the luxurious bed linens to the pottery to the lighting and right on down to the hand soap in the lovely bathrooms. The modern farmhouse kitchen with every convenience, bookshelves filled with art, history and travel books, walls decorated with beautiful prints, fireplace clean and ready for a roaring evening fire and oversized, plush couches and chairs convinced us to stay in, cook and linger with a movie and/or music playing on the smart TV all three of our delightful evenings there. And each morning we had to force ourselves to leave the house to explore the area’s many charms. (We did make it to Mohonk Mountain where we enjoyed a day of brunching and snow-shoeing as well as a day of shopping, lunching and antiquing in Rhinbeck.) But Bontecou Farm was truly the highlight of the weekend and where we spent the bulk of our time. It surely must have been a labor of love for Linda and her husband to create such a wonderful haven and we will definitely return one day - perhaps when the hops harvest comes in and we can enjoy some of the beauty of the gardens, fields and riverbank. Until then we simply want to thank the owners for enabling us to enjoy a truly magical experience in their lovely home.
