About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Welcome to the JazzNest!

We are so proud to introduce you to the JazzNest! This is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom space in the heart of uptown New Orleans, one block from the best shops and restaurants on Magazine. The home has just been completely renovated and is the quintessential historic double shotgun with 12ft ceilings and celebrates all the charm of the great city of New Orleans!
There are 4 grocery stores within walking distance, 2 large ones, 1 smaller Whole Foods, and a boutique grocery called Zara's. There is a convenience store 1 block away on Magazine and a neighborhood coffee shop (Cherry Coffee Shop) just around the corner that faces a public dog park, a children's park and jungle gym, and a baseball field. ALL of this is within ONE block of the house! There is plenty of room for street parking right in front of the house and the area is very safe and family friendly.
As are most short term rentals in New Orleans (due to the city's short term rental laws) this is one side of our own double however the space is completely private with its own private entrance, side yard, and patio area.
There are two large bedrooms on opposite ends of the house, one with an attached full bath and one with a full bath adjacent and the living area and kitchen are in between. The home is full of New Orleans decor and a short 5 block walk to the heart of the Mardi Gras parades on Napoleon. There is plenty of parking in front of the house. The home has its own washer and dryer, comfortable beds and bedding, smart tv's, and wifi. There is a full refrigerator, induction stove, dishwasher, toaster oven, and all of the accessories needed to make this your home away from home. If you need to borrow a crock pot or pressure cooker just ask and we are glad to oblige! Outside you have a private entrance with a fully fenced (8ft) side yard with a propane grill, two tiered deck, and string lights. We welcome well behaved pets for an additional $50 cleaning fee.
** Note ** - We know that New Orleans means having a good time and we are here for you to do just that. The space is very private and noise is rarely an issue however we do ask that noise be kept to a minimum outside after 9:30pm in respect of our neighbors. The homes in New Orleans are very close together and short term rentals are on a very tight leash when it comes to nuisance laws. You are free to use the front porch of our home after 9:30pm but still ask that noise be kept at a conversation level.

Great Location and Super Comfortable
All I can say is wow!! The location of the Jazznest is perfect if you don’t want to be in Mardi Gras mode all the time, but close enough to the buses and trolley lines, just a short walk. Plus they are just a block from Magazine St., and it is a wonderful, artsy area with good restaurants and not far from Whole Foods to get some goodies. The place itself is so eclectic and comfortable. Amanda is a great host and we loved meeting their dogs. We will be back!! 100% recommend!!

Comfortable, cozy stay in a desirable neighborhood
Comfortable, tasteful, artsy accommodation in the Uptown. Very fun decor, both wall hangings and collectibles. Two spacious bedrooms each with own bath (one shower, one tub/shower), cozy common kitchen & sitting area. Ideal for two parties (2-4 persons) who enjoy some separation, but also some common space. Everything we needed. Amanda is very responsive host. Many neighborhood joints as well as fine eateries within easy walking distance. One block to a bus stop, about 6 to the St Charles streetcar. On our list to do again!

Best location!
We loved our stay at the Jazz Nest! It’s centrally located in Uptown, our favorite place to stay when visiting NOLA. The Jazz Nest is near dozens of awesome restaurants and bakeries. It’s even just a 7 minute walk to my favorite workout studio! It’s a short distance to the Audubon Zoo & Park and Loyola & Tulane. And, it’s just a block from Magazine Street, which has a million restaurants and shops, plus a Whole Foods and several amazing art galleries. We took a 10-15 minute Uber ride to the French Quarter several times during the week stay at Jazz Nest. It’s small, but perfect for a couple - or two - with two good sized bedrooms and two bathrooms. The kitchen is a nice size, too, and is fully stocked. Though, it’s hard to cook when there are so many great restaurants nearby. Our host, Amanda, was great! She was always quick to respond and extremely helpful. We loved her restaurant recommendations and eagerness to insure we had a great experience. We loved her pup, too! We enjoyed our stay so much, we’re returning next year! Don’t hesitate to book Jazz Nest the next time you visit NOLA!

My family of three (including a preschooler) had a great stay at Amanda’s place. The apartment is beautifully decorated and very comfortable for a long stay. The neighborhood is safe and walkable, with some great restaurants and cafes nearby. We would love to stay here again if we return to New Orleans!

High charm in great neighborhood
Spent a week with family, ages 19 to 80, over Thanksgiving. We felt at home - with a fun, art twist - and had everything we needed. Restaurants within walking distance, rented a car for activities farther away. Visiting a family member at Tulane and this place is relatively close if you have a car.

Relaxing stay at Amanda's beautiful Garden District home.
We loved everything about this accomodation. My husband was playing tennis at the New Orleans Lawn Tennis Club which was less than 1/2 mile away. We loved walking through the Garden District to local restaurants, amazing shopping, and art studios on Magazine street, two blocks away. A bonus for us was how quiet the neighborhood is. We easily took ride share to downtown, Burbon Street and The National WWll Museum, just a 10 minute drive. Thank you Amanda for making this our BEST trip to New Orleans. We will be back the same week in 2023.

Wonderful Place to Stay
We stayed here for a weekend while visiting Tulane as a prospective university for my high school senior. Great place to stay! We enjoyed being one block away from Magazine St and we walked to dinner the first night (La Petit Grocery- highly recommend). There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms so we did not have to share; everything is extremely clean and well decorated. There are TVs in the rooms and the WiFi works well. The hosts left coffee for the coffee maker which I appreciated. This is the perfect cozy nest for a weekend away!
