Great property in Lower Garden District
We stayed at the Duke of Magazine for the week between Christmas and New Years. We had nine people, four over 60 parents and five 20-something “kids”. It is a lovely property with three distinct areas. The front of the house has the kitchen, living and dining rooms with 3 bedrooms and 2 bags upstairs, The middle section, reached directly through the front section, has a den with a 85” (I think) TV and two more bedrooms and one bath upstairs. The third section which is reached by going through the pool/patio area has another kitchen den area with a bedroom and bath upstairs. Each area had a separate thermostat which we used for heating and cooling since the outside temperatures varied. The kitchens were well equipped. A microwave, toaster and storage space were located in a pantry across the hall from the kitchen. The host/property manager was very responsive when we had questions about the pool heater. Our children used the pool almost every evening. Our host also inquired about our safety after the New Year’s Eve tragedy on Bourbon Street. We didn’t need a rental car. There were several restaurants nearby and the WW 2 Museum was about a 9 minute walk away. The French quarter was 35 minutes away by foot. We were able to walk almost everywhere and Ubers were plentiful when we didn’t. Overall, we highly recommend this property
