Liked: Amenities, property conditions & facilities
Disliked: Cleanliness
The hostel is impressively modern, new, and beautifully designed. My private room, featuring one full bed and two bunk beds, was surprisingly spacious and well-appointed. Both the room and the bathroom were sleek and contemporary.
The location is another standout feature, being conveniently close to the French Quarter, which is perfect for exploring the area. I also appreciated the option to store luggage in lockers before check-in, which added to the convenience. The communal kitchen and dining area, complete with a large fridge, is a nice touch for those who want to prepare or store food.
However, there were notable drawbacks. While the provided breakfast (boiled eggs, unsweetened cereal, and bread) was underwhelming, this isn’t a dealbreaker since the French Quarter offers plenty of dining options. My biggest concern was the lack of cleanliness during my three-night stay. The hostel refused to clean the room, citing staff shortages, and the hallways were often overflowing with trash, accompanied by a lingering unpleasant smell.
Overall, this hostel has a lot of potential due to its modern amenities and prime location, but the lack of cleanliness and maintenance was disappointing. A stronger focus on housekeeping would make this place truly outstanding.
