About this property

You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Located at the foothills of the Hocking Hills

At the turn of the century my great grandfather and grandmother, George and Golda Scott, purchased this farm.

In 1963, when my father graduated from Ohio State with a degree in agriculture, Great grandpa George gave him and my mother this farm.

My parents farmed this (along with about 900 other acres) and raised three daughters here.

After my parents’ death in 2004 and 2005, I, Dalelene, that middle daughter, and my husband, Dave, and our youngest daughter bought the farm and relocated here from Lancaster. We are so happy to live here.

After living “back home” for five years, we decided to use this beautiful farm for more than just a residence.

The George and Goldie Cabin is a way we thought that others would enjoy our 80 acres. So, with the help of Ron White Builders, we built our first cabin to allow others to experience the calmness, serenity, and solitude of our family farm. We named this first cabin after my great grandparents, George and Golda (I called her Grandma Goldi) Scott; the George and Goldi.

Private secluded Getaway Cabin
My boyfriend and I rented this cabin for a getaway weekend! We loved how secluded and private it was. Last minute we took our fur babies, the big open fields were great for morning and evening walks. Always started and ended our day in the hot tub! Bath robes provided were great to have! Sunset, cooking, fire and hot tub became our routine schedule of relaxation. The dogs were content, I do wish the porches were more dog friendly. The front needs a gate and the back needs the section behind the hot tub blocked off. Our schnauzer medium size also was able to squeeze through the spindles. It does need a couple more kitchen items, plastic cups, chopping board, storage containers. I’ll just pack a few extra things next time. Family dollar is just 10 minutes away. We are already talking about planning to stay here again! Stunning views! One evening we did hear some coyotes while sitting by the fire. Future guests be sure to take some wood to burn. We brought our own and always do when renting a cabin. We have found our home away from home!

Beautiful, secluded, cozy cabin for a couple's getaway
After moving our daughter into the dorms at Ohio University, my husband and I had an incredible stay at this cozy cabin! The location was peaceful and secluded, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The cabin was well-maintained and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. We especially loved the outdoor space—perfect for enjoying the beautiful scenery and a lovely fire in the firepit. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet escape!

Short relaxing vacation
Just needed a secluded getaway to relax without having to board my dogs or worry about where they would go. Big open property. Enough for short hikes which was perfect for my dogs as it was a bit hot! Short drive from OU which my girlfriend loved taking the opportunity to visit. Longer drive to the main trails (45 min so not too far). All in all in was exactly what I was looking for. Secluded, relaxing, great views and of course the hot tub never hurts!

Great secluded cabin near hiking trails!
This cabin was the perfect getaway for my wife and I. Super clean, remote and all the amenities you could ask for. Hot tub worked great and the views were fantastic. About twenty minutes to about everything including Athens, Hocking Hills, Strouds Run and Zaleski State Park. Owners were prompt and easy to work with!

There are two cabins. When I booked, it did not specify which one I booked. So, I may have stayed in the wrong cabin! Otherwise, the amenities were great and the location to OU was a short drive.

Cabin on the hill
This was a smal and beautiful cabin. Perfect for a couple for the weekend.The area is calm and quiet. You are able to roam the farm land that the cabin is on - which made for beauftiful moring and evening hikes. The hosts are amazing! We will be back!

So much fun!
My boyfriend and I had the best time at this perfect cabin for our weekend getaway! We had never been to Hocking Hills before and wanted a cozy cabin to come home to after hiking trails all day! This cabin has so much to offer: hot tub, front porch chair for viewing the hillside, a fire pit, and so much more! We couldn’t have picked a more perfect cabin to stay at!
