We have decided to rent our windmill in Neubukow for a few weeks a year. We want to give other people the opportunity to go back in time in a unique setting and to live in a Dutch windmill that is over 100 years old. Admire how we lovingly worked up the old craftsmanship that can be seen everywhere in the mill or even preserved it in its natural state. Marvel at the ornate composite timberwork, whose accuracy of fit is admirable, the huge wooden funnels, the millstones that are still in their old place on the stone floor (second floor), the bucket elevator that is responsible for the transport of the grain within the mill was, the royal shaft that extends from the mill cap to the roller base (first floor), the many different shafts and gears some made of wood and much more.
The entire mill was equipped with modern heating, a fully equipped new kitchen in the old style, two bedrooms with flat screens and a designer bathroom leave nothing to be desired. These rooms are located in the converted threshing floor and in the roller floor.
On the stone floor / second floor there is the living room with two exits to the gallery, which runs around the entire mill body. A 360 degree tour with a beach chair and seating furniture, simply fabulously beautiful. We were able to leave the safety floor (third floor) and the cleaning floor (fourth floor) in their original condition and can be inspected.
Many small special features in our mill simply make living something special. We have furnished them to our taste and not as impersonal as a holiday apartment. Many pictures, modern art and history of the mill, antiques and designer pieces have found their way into the mill and together with the old technology form a unique living culture. The size of 210 sqm of living space alone does not exactly correspond to the size of a normal apartment or House. Since we have not only put a lot of time, a lot of money, but above all a lot of love into our mill, we hope that you can enjoy your stay to the fullest.
If you should want to leave the mill, the Baltic Sea is only 4 km away. Pepelow is a surfer's paradise. Or they love sandy beaches, which can be found in the nearby fishing village of Rerik with the Wustrow peninsula, whose changeable history is best explained on a steamboat trip. But fans of steam locomotives will also get their money's worth in Bad Doberan. As in the old days, the Molly still drives through the city center via Kühlungsborn to the white city by the sea at Heiligendamm. You can find more culture and big city flair in Wismar or in Rostock. A little tip, from Neubukow there is a train to both cities every hour.
When it gets stormy and cold outside, it is particularly cozy in the mill. You can then hear the creaking of the wooden beams, the whispering of the wind that gets caught in the wings, just as if the mill were telling quiet stories from its turbulent past.
But if you still want nature and tranquility, the Jakobsweg is in front of the mill, natural, we wish you a true natural paradise.
