Neskowin Hills

Nice home for the price. Spacious enough to accommodate a small family would highly encourage better signage to the property as the address was hidden behind overgrown bushes and was rather frustrating to locate the property. The battery may be going dead on the key lock as it did not work and required a call into Vacasa for access to the actual key.

A little old… but liveable

The house is definitely a bit run-down. We had some lights flickering, the pool table ball return was broken, the ping pong table top was ruined from water damage. Furniture is a little old and dated, but comfy. It’s got that old house smell to it. However, it was still perfectly livable. We enjoyed the spaciousness of the house, the hot tub was awesome! A little let down due to the condition of the house, but we still had a great trip overall.

Decent experience over all with some concerns

We enjoyed the stay overall but there were a few things that were unfortunate. We had young children and a baby and we had to be very careful allowing them on the deck due to several loose railing boards. We also were unable to BBQ, which we brought food to explicitly cook on it. The grill was covered in gunk and what may have been fire extinguisher residue. One of the screen doors had a completely torn screen and all of the screen doors(4) fell off the tracks or did not want to open. The smoke alarms also woke up our kiddos in their rooms two nights in a row at random so we had to shut them off. We enjoyed the amount of space and the stocked kitchen supplies and overall everyone had fun. I just recommend reviewing some extra cleaning and repairs.

Great place to relax

I really enjoyed my stay! It was a great place to relax with friends, see the stars, and enjoy the beach. I’ve stayed at this house many times now. The new floors are great and it’s nice that the tvs were updated. This really is one of my favorite places to stay and plan on staying again.

Comfortable, great location, great value

This house and space is so quiet and charming. The house has a lived-in feel so great for family - clean but not fussy! Location and view were great, split-level bedrooms gave privacy and space for all. Super-clean hot tub. Love the woodland feel. Lots of safe parking.

Great layout. Decent amenities. Great deck and view. House was not very clean, strong odor, and many broken items. With a little tlc and better cleaning this would be a great place to stay.

August 2022 stay

The house is in a great location and from the pictures, it looked like the house was going to be awesome. Unfortunately, as we pulled up it became clear that maybe it wasn't going to be good. I got the key to open the door and the screen door was filthy and had cobs webs. Here is just a short list of things that were not suitable: 1. There were dead bugs on the window sills upstairs and downstairs. 2. The walls are not clean and need paint, and the handrail going upstairs is sticky with something. 3. On various places in the bathroom the paint is flaking off. 4. Cobwebs are present in just about every window. My husband had a large spider suspend down from the ceiling in the shower to drop on him as he showered. 5. There was mold in the downstairs bedroom on the window shade. It had been there for a while. This was not a new thing. 6. There was a frog in the drain of the downstairs bathroom that began jumping around. 7. There was a pan in the cupboard that had food residue. 8. The comforter downstairs had stains. 9. The deck railing was rotted and falling apart in several places, and would not hold a person’s weight if they fell against it. This should really be dealt with immediately, someone is going to get hurt. 10. The deck railing is not up to code, as it was short, and our 2 year old grandson could have squeezed through some gaps. In other places someone had installed some weird vertical railings to cover some of these gaps, but they didn't cover all of them. 11. The spaces under the deck were dirty and unkempt, so we couldn't have the kids in those areas. 12. The WI-fi was terrible. We had to restart the cable router 10+ times. It would function about 30 minutes and then shutdown. As there is no cell coverage at the house, wi-fi is important for safety, as we could have used that to make a call. Two of our kids were trying to complete their MBA courses on Saturday, they tried at this house, and they ended up going to my brothers house to complete their class. 13. North upstairs screen door would not open, unless you grabbed it from the bottom. My 83 year old mother was not able to open the door. 14. We could go on because there is more. So we really wanted to love this space. It is within walking from my brothers house and the rest of our family reunion stayed there. This house had a great view from the deck, and we didn't even try the sauna, but in all honesty you should be giving us a refund. Our kids both left early and didn't stay with us, because they didn't want their infant and toddler crawling around this space.

Needs a deep cleaning

The home was in a perfect location with a great view. It has a lot of potential. The kids loved the lower level game room. Many pics were no longer accurate. The house was so dirty. Cobwebs, spider webs and dust covered all corners and hung from the ceiling and fans. The exterior of the house including the railing and glass inserts of the wrap around porch. Rugs were dirty and frayed. Hole on fabric on back of couch. Water was yellowish brown and unable to drink. Upper level of home had no air conditioning blowing, so it was almost unbearable (lower level was fine). We considered leaving for all of the above reasons but I found a broom and mop and spent at least an hour cleaning before we felt ok about staying. Highly disappointed but again, it did have is lot of potential and great game room for kids.

Good house, needs work

We had a great time. Neskowin is a great, quiet, quaint town! The house is in a very quiet neighborhood. It was covered on the outside by spider webs, it was disgusting! There were potato bugs (alive) inside the house (downstairs). The house needs a lot of work, it is run down. The kitchen was okay, everything worked, not well stocked. The beds were okay, at least one needs a new mattress, though.

Great house for families

This house is comfortable, cozy, and great for our older kids. The view was beautiful and the neighborhood was quiet. We loved the hot tub and enjoyed time on the deck. The kids loved the lower level with the ping pong, pool table and foosball.

Great time with family

We had a great time with the family. Beautiful area and lots to do. Loved the the scenic path to the beach and of course the hot tub and all the games at the house. Check in progress was super easy also

Improvements noticed!

This is the third time I have rented this house for the weekend and it was by far the cleanest it has ever been! It was nice to see the deck was repaired, the house had been power washed and there was a new dishwasher! Still needs a paint job inside and new carpet but a great rental for the price! Thanks for having us for another memorable weekend 😊

Coastal Adventures & Downtime

The home and views were beautiful. The hot tub, one of my main requirements, was amazing! Clean, well placed and private (for the most part). There is a walking path that winds around behind the area the hot tub is in so at times there were passerbys, but overall it was perfect! There are only a few items I personally would have liked to be notified about. The beach is much further than a couple minute walk from the home. The impression given was it was very close to the house, however we did not find this to be the case. Wanting to be close to the beach was another "requirement" of mine personally so this was quite disappointing, but not a vacation ruiner for sure. The views and area are beautiful, but not as close as I would have liked to be. The other item was mainly just bugs - in the downstairs bathroom there were several rolly polly bugs and earwigs at all times of the day. Small sugar ants also were found along the countertops and windowsill in the kitchen. Overall, it was a nice little spot for my family and I - fulfilling all of our needs during our stay and providing us a much needed place to unplug and step out of our day to day living.

Could be amazing with a few updates

This house was pretty run down. It needs some TLC and some renovating. Things that really need to be replaced are the carpet, baseboards, paint on the walls, everything in the downstairs bathroom (not sure about washer dryer since we didn't use them), living room furniture and bedroom pillows. The kitchen is old fashioned but that didn't bother us. It does need more utensils and supplies in general. New dishwasher was nice. We enjoyed the open layout and big windows in the living room, the game room downstairs for the kids, the hot tub, and its location. It is close to so many beautiful natural areas to explore, and had a trail that connects the house to the beach through a protected wetland and a neighborhood. We generally don't go for anything fancy when we rent but this house was the shabbiest we've rented. With a few basic updates it could be so much better.

Nice house few things it needs work on

Overall it was a nice. It was frustrating we couldn’t get the tv to work because we didn’t have a roku account. The cabin owners stocked full of enough plates, bowls and cups but there was not enough silverware. Probably won’t stay here again, the roads are way too narrow

Do Not Rent

Although we enjoyed most parts of our stay at Pacific Solace, I would strongly caution against renting this property. There were no instructions for use of the hot tub, other than to rinse before use, and so we assumed it was clean and ready to be used as it was included in the listing. All four adults staying in the home used the hot tub one time, and all four ended up with bacterial skin infections that required medical care. We contacted Vacasa about this and did not hear back. The overall house was clean, but there was broken glass bottle pieces on the deck that were found by the two toddlers staying in the home. Wish we could give this home a better review.

A decent home, an amazing view and overall a 6 out of 10.

The Good - Ok so this place is really cool. It has one of the best yards I've ever seen. Like whoever takes care of the outside of the house knows what they're doing. The drive way is also nice room for vehicles. Now for the inside it's cozy and nice and you can be loud because you're a little isolated below other houses. The downstairs is cool and the upstairs will get pretty warm. The wood tile floor is nice and the Hotub is fantastic! Like the highlight of the trip goes to that Hotub and yes there is a Hotub it's upstairs on the outside deck. The Foosball table and Pool table were really fun, however they are older which for the pool table the balls may get stuck inside. Easy solution just grab them or another ball would hit them out. The fridge, microwave, oven and dishwasher worked great. No problems there and the TVs were awesome. The Bad - The house has seen better days, the sliding screens were difficult to push open. One of them is actually torn. The place when we arrived was not clean very well. Hair and crumbs in the beds. Hair in the showers. Unwashed dishes that were put away. We got a refund for the cleaning fee, which was nice, manager was really kind. The water in the showers can be a little tricky shooting from cold to warm to cold in a matter of seconds. Fun showers as you can imagine. However you can get long periods of warm. The two lovseats were comfortable however the two chairs next to the stairs need to be replaced it's just there time. The beds were the downfall of the trip. The three downstairs beds are super uncomfortable. The two twins feel like cardboard and the queen is spring central. Overall - I give this place a 6 out of 10 because we had a fun time. Some of the beds were uncomfortable and the house wasn't very clean. However we got a refund and the Hotub was really nice. We had many games of pool and the internet was excellent. Cell phone reception is bad down stairs just to let people now. Me and my friends would definitely come back here in the distant future as a anniversary to our first trip together.

Fun with family

We met our adult children in Neskowin for a weekend hangout. The short walk to the beach was excellent along a nature path. We enjoyed the large hot tub and pingpong/pool table. If spending time with your family is imperative to you, this is a good place to do it as internet and cell service is spotty at best. No distractions!

DO NOT BOOK!!!

This has to be the worst rental experience I have ever come across! The house in very outdated and filthy dirty. Here are some of the many problems we came across on our vacation. We noticed the furniture was very worn and outdated. The carpets and rugs were dirty and worn. There was no welcome sheet, just a laminated piece of paper that had the wifi network, password and the how to access the cable. We spent time troubleshooting and could not access either. We called and spoke to a Vacasa rep. who informed us that the cable was no longer an amenity and that they have Roku available. He informed us that they had asked to homeowner to update the wifi information and they obviously had not. We could not access Roku because the TV was not connected to the internet and there was no remote for the Roku. We had to flip the router over to find the wifi information so we eventually accessed it ourselves, but we were unable to stream anything. We called back the next day and spoke to another Vacasa rep. who was unhelpful and she said she would try to find a remote for us if she could, but never called us back. We looked in the couch cushions for the remote, but only found food! The blinds in the windows were dirty and covered in stains. The window seals were covered in spider webs, dirt and even hair! There was even a dead spider on the pillow in our bedroom. There were stains and dirt on the walls. The counter tops looked as though they were hardly wiped down and there was residue left behind. The hand soap seemed to have been refilled with only water. The towels had stains on them. The outdoor grill was rusted and dirty. There were downed limbs in the yard and leaves covering the entire property and balcony patio. Balcony patio was dirty and knocked over. The hot tub was extremely overclorinated. There were crumbs all over the pool table. This rental not only seemed like it was designed for a high schoolers party, but it looked as though there was one the night before. We became more and more unhappy with our stay here as the time went on. The Vacasa reps were zero help and I even emailed them first to let them know how disappointed we were and the fact that we had to call them several times during our vacation, but they never replied. My advice would be to stick with Air BNB!

Not clean, but many other extras.

Excellent amenities. Plenty of room. Beautiful hot tub and view. Lots of things to do at the house. But it was not clean. I saw many prior reviews, hoping that the complaints would be corrected, but they weren’t. We had to wash every dish, glass, silverware and utensil that we used. Some beds had hair on the sheets as if they hadn’t been changed. Sad. If the deep cleaning was done, I would recommend it so anyone.
