Absolutely beautiful house full of history. Jeff and Sherri were fantastic and we had the pleasure of meeting Jeff at checkout and he was very nice. All of the amenities worked great and we felt like we were staying in our very own little inn. Would absolutely stay here again.
Nice area. The pictures do not do this beautiful house justice. Kids loved reading about the house. Perfect for our family vacation and close to Hocking Hills for hiking. Thank you for sharing this beauty with us!
The house was a great location outside of Hocking Hills Ohio. The owner was very responsive and the house have everything. We need it with a really cool charm.

Beautiful home!!!! Love it! We will be coming back. This is the home you must stay in!
The home is well maintained, clean, spacious, comfortable and so much more. We were there in a genealogical quest and it was perfectly located between Chillicothe, Point Pleasant and Marietta. The owners are very kind and gracious. We recommend this home to anyone wanting to visit the area!!
The Farrow House is beautiful, and the deck, the hot tub and the view of the river were all wonderful. The owners were very responsive and helpful. My friends and I and our daughters very much enjoyed the time we spent here.

Cute house with vintage charm, very comfortable!
Spacious house with great back deck and front porch. Our little one enjoyed watching the trains go by and we appreciated all the amenities the house has. Walking distance to historic Nelsonville and right by bike trail. Owners were super friendly and helpful!

Quiet Lovely Home, Centrally Located!
We booked the Farrow House for a family vacation. We had a great time. Hocking Hills is close and we went canoeing as well. The house is very quiet and lovely. We spent a lot of time on the back patio. Would like to return again! Thank you Sherri and Jeff for a lovely time!
We stayed at the farrow house for 5 days. It was wonderful. Even though there is now central air the house was comfortable. We loved the historical aspect of it. It was so easy to just walk into town for coffee in the mornings for the older kids. We loved the family time and it was so easy to just get to every where. Thank you to Sherri and Jeff for opening their home.
We enjoyed game night under the lights on the back deck, reading on the front porch swing, or just relaxing in one of the very comfortable beds or the living room. Enough space for everyone to do their own thing, and still space to play games together. Homeowners very responsive and helpful. About 20 minutes from all the Hocking Hills hiking and attractions, but that is what made it a great location. Would recommend any activities with hockinghillsadventuretrek and Jackie O's restaurant in Athens.
The Farrow House was perfect! A beautiful Victorian style home. Plenty of beds for our group of 7. The dining room was spectacular with the table all set for a fancy meal! We loved watching the rafters floating down the river from the back deck and when sitting on the front porch waved to the people on the trains going by. The house was very clean, beds were comfortable, and we loved the antiques. We made a bonfire and had s'mores one night which was a blast! The front yard has 2 ponds with lots of fish. The grandkids ages 4 and 6 enjoyed the weekend as much as the adults! I would definitely stay here again! Thank you!

Perfect setting for a large group
We had such a wonderful experience in this beautiful home. We loved the Victorian pieces and the large sitting room was ideal for our girls weekend. The back porch was our favorite spot for our morning coffee. Even though the house only had one bathroom it really didn’t present a problem and was large enough to accommodate multiple people getting ready at once. We have said multiple times how much we would love to come back. Communication with the hosts was quick and seamless. They even left us fresh orange juice and eggs!!
We really enjoyed the property. It was spacious and clean and centrally located to many activities we wanted to do. It was a very comfortable place to stay and we enjoyed the front porch and back deck quite a bit. The neighborhood cat that visited was precious and we loved the frog in the pond up front. It was a bit difficult to share one bathroom, but we managed. We like to cook and struggled a bit with the retro oven, but ultimately managed. The dining room is pretty, but we felt we couldn't eat in there because of all the complex settings. I would have preferred the space be more usable so we could all eat together. Overall our visit was great!
It was a nice stay. We were met by the owner at arrival & exit.
The floors were not very clean, because our clothes, had hair on them. The hot tub did not get hot, and the coffee bar wasn't fully stocked. The porch lights, and washer, did not work.
The heat, & tv was a bit tricky, but managed. We followed the rules of the home, as asked.
It is a beautiful home, with a peace, and spaciousness to it. The beds were clean & comfortable. We did have a pleasant stay overall.

Liked: Check-in, communication
Disliked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Sadly, Some Issues Need to be Fixed
Here are the unexpected things I wish I knew before booking:
- Master Nook has one full-sized bed, not two twins as the listing claims.
- No AC in the room with the patio, and no screen for the patio door if you’d like to leave it open.
- Visible mold growing on the blinds covering the AC unit in the bedroom with two queens. Another time, one of us turned off a downstairs AC unit because they were coughing and suspected mold in the unit. The units do appear to need cleaning.
- The photos make the rooms appear to be brightly lit when really, they were much darker.
- It looks difficult to access the river from the yard (just an FYI)
- The boards underneath one of the queen mattresses were cracked, so the mattress caved.
- One of the back porch string lights was broken but the filament was still attached & it appeared to be an electrical hazard.
Host communication was prompt; prior to our stay, she let us know that a new hot tub was ordered because the tub stopped going past 86 degrees. I appreciated the notice and we still enjoyed that, along with the spacious porches.
I really wanted to enjoy our stay and the hosts seem very nice but I’m sorry to say the unexpected issues we encountered eclipsed the charm of this older home for me.
The house was absolutely beautiful. It was nice and clean and very roomy. The furnishings were amazing. The kitchen had this very rare unique stove that compliments the style of the home. We stayed for a family gatherings with ages from 2 to 60 and everyone enjoyed it immensely. The reviews about the back porch deck are spot on. I could've sat out there for days just watching the people cruise by on tubes and canoes on the river out back. Its a very very nice deck. I have to include in this review the owners. They are very attentive whenever we contacted them they responded even late night past 12 they were willing to come out and turn the heat on for us. The owner came out and chatted with us for awhile telling us the history of the house and about some future renovation plans. Keep up the good work you two and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. We all slept well the beds were nice and comfortable. They supplied us plenty of towels and there were seasonings and condiments there to use there were plenty of dishes and utensils for the kitchen. I would highly recommend this place.
Wonderful family wedding location near the Stuart Opera House
Our son and daughter and our young grandchildren rented this house because it was within walking distance of our family wedding. It is an older house that was well maintained and equipped. It had a wonderful back porch area that was private with nice seating areas. Before the wedding family members gathered on the porch to talk and reminisce. After we drove home, we received a negative email from the property owner complaining about dishes and trash. Before my family left the house at 11:00 AM (checkout), we gathered all the sheets and towels and placed them in the laundry room as requested. We placed all the dirty dishes in the dishwasher and collected all the trash and placed the trash in trash bags. We did not start the dishwasher because we could not find dish washing detergent. The other complaint was a light bulb on a string of Christmas-like lights on the back porch was broken. We have rented many properties on VRBO over the years and have never received a negative email from a property manager after our stay.
First - the owners are so easy to work with and so thoughtful!!! Made the trip so stress free with how they handled check in and out. Always available for any question or need.
This rental was for a family gathering of myself, my husband, our youngest daughter and 3 of our adult college age grandchildren - our first chance to see each other and be together in over a year due to Covid.
What an amazing home the Farrow House is? Beautifully done... with so many more extras than we anticipated,... and so comfortable!!!
Sitting on the front or on back porch with the river view there is wonderful!! Cranked up the barbeque on the back porch with plenty of room for relaxation and eating there several times!!
The fire pit adds extra fun element to the stay!!
And indoors is wonderful!!! Bedrooms are so comfortable and more spacious than we had imagined from the pictures.
And the living room was just comfortable and easy place to gather - especially with being almost a great room with the kitchen and table there attached. Was the center of a lot of card playing and movie watching!!
Such an easy walk from the property to the historic downtown area - so you can even walk to get to some restaurant options in the area.
We just loved it... and our group is already encouraging me to rebook for next year to do it again!!!
Wonderful home and perfect location in the Hocking Hills area
We were looking for a house to stay in for a quick weekend girls trip around the Hocking Hills area. This house was perfect! There were only 3 of us so it was definitely a little bigger than what we needed but we still loved it! The hot tub was, of course, a highlight after a day of hiking! The beds were super comfortable and the living area was great for us to hang out or watch TV. We really loved drinking coffee out on the front porch! The house was in a perfect location! Super close to a lot of different hiking trails and a very short walk to downtown Nelsonville which had a lot of cute stores, ice cream shops, and a coffee shop! The owners (Sherri and Jeff) were wonderful and very responsive. Even prior to us arriving, they answered all of our questions within 30 minutes! Once we arrived (around 8pm), the owners had already turned on lights and the heat which made the house feel even more welcoming! While we were there, we turned off the heat by accident and Jeff was there within 10 minutes to help. He also showed us how to turn it back on, just in case it happened again. Jeff also chatted with us a bit about the history of the house which we loved hearing about. We also had an issue with the hot tub but that was resolved immediately! The check out process was one of the easiest I've ever experienced using VRBO which made our quick weekend trip even more enjoyable! I would highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone looking for a quiet getaway in the Hocking Hills area!
