Adorable House
Clean property. Loved the pool table and jacuzzi. The 2nd floor was a little warm, so if you like sleeping in cool temps plan your stay here during the cooler seasons (we stayed in August). I recommend this rental.

Nice getaway weekend
The house is lovely and is situated just off the public square with a great view of the public square. The house was also well stocked with pots/pans and cooking utensils. There is a great little coffee shop and pizza place within walking distance in the public square. Was very pleasant.

Good option in the area
1st off. Listing says jacuzzi, there is NONE. That aside, it wasnt bad. The town is small and quiet. We did Not have people in the parking lot at all hours. We walked to our meals and relaxed by the bonfire at night. About 20 30 min from Hocking hills. The property is nicer in person but I was very disappointed in the no jacuzzi. They really need to change the listing here. You do have to walk thru the master bedroom to get to one of the other bedrooms and there is nowhere to unpack your clothes. Pool table was decent and the fireplace isnt a fireplace, its just a non functional facade. Large kitchen area and washer and dryer are a plus.

Okay Place to Stay
Let me start by saying the reason my husband and I like to stay at VRBO's is because we like the personal touch, like we are walking into our second home. This is a cute, old house that was comfortable enough (except for the fun house floors upstairs), I would give it a 3.5 for cleanliness, but for the price, is lacking the little things that would make all the difference. You have to check in at a remote location, which feels more like a hotel or resort. They provide a gas grill, dishes, cookware, linens, towels, dish and hand soap, salt and pepper and paper goods. Expect to bring EVERYTHING else yourself or purchase when you get there. They do not provide coffee, tea, sugar, creamer, spices, condiments of any kind (not even left over from someone else's stay) ice or ice cube trays, bar soap for the shower, hangers in the closets, no dressers to unpack a suitcase, and nowhere to put a suitcase except the floor, no full length mirrors to check yourself before walking out the door, and no hair dryer. They charge an extra cleaning fee, and then encourage you to tip their cleaners. A tip should be to supplement what an employer is not paying an employee. You are asking me to pay them and tip them? The property description also listed a hot tub. There is none. When we arrived, it was pouring down rain, and the cat hair-covered cushions around the fire pit were out in it. There was a vacuum cleaner, so my husband was able to clean the cushions before use. I understand this is a business, and they have to make business decisions, but it felt more like a property management company, rather than a VRBO. No personal touches or welcoming feel. There is also a parking lot next door with traffic all night long. It is within walking distance to a cute little town square, where we found a great little pizza place. If you are staying on a weekend though, you will not find coffee on Sunday morning. One coffee shop is closed on Saturday and Sunday, and the other is closed on Sunday and Monday. We came to the area to visit family, and the house served that purpose. It was just okay.

Clean and comfortable
Neat older home that's been updated and well kept. Stayed here with friends for a weekend at OU so the location was really convenient for that. I thought there were 2 bathrooms from the listing but after a closer look it does say 1.5 in the written description. The home was comfortable and clean and the price was right.

Spring Break Hiking Getaway
The Campbell House is an old house restored and renovated to be quite charming. While the wood floors sometimes are a bit off-angled, they are sturdy and in good shape. The kitchen is well-appointed with new appliances, and actually has a half-bathroom/ water closet adjacent to the refrigerator that is not listed in the description (it is VERY small and height-challenged, though, as it is under the stairs, but still functional). The bedrooms and pool table room are indeed spacious, and the furniture is tasteful and while a bit modern (which we like), complement the rooms. We did not try out the patio sets and backyard since the weather was quite cold and windy. The location is within sight of the quaint and pretty historic downtown district, so is good for walking to the few restaurants and the opera house there. Groceries are a short 4 minute drive away. As a base for Hocking Hills State Park and for downtown Athens, it’s not the most convenient but certainly not bad (30 and 25 minutes, respectively), and the roads to those places are fun to drive, anyway.

Great house!
The pictures of this house don't do it justice. Its tasteful modern decor combined with its historic charm give the house a lot of character. The inside of the house is all newly restored, so its very comfortable. My family also enjoyed the fire pit and pool table! With the town square visible from the back windows, several good restaurants are an easy walk away. Nelsonville is a cute town halfway between Athens and the Hocking Hills area, so we were easily able to visit both areas. If you're planning to stay here with friends, note that access to the 3rd bedroom is only possible through the 2nd bedroom and there is no door between them. Also, tall people beware: the new downstairs bathroom is in the space beneath the stairs, so you'll need to watch your head! (My kids loved it!)
