"I stayed in a private double room before and after the Abel Tasman Track. I was able to leave my luggage in a secure closet at reception for free. The hostel felt homey and had a nice community vibe to it. I credit the friendly staff for that. Towels and bar soap were provided, at least for the private double room. The walls are thin so earplugs are recommended depending on how loud your neighbors are. Kitchen was well stocked, free coffee and tea, and of course the free chocolate "pudding"...

"Very Nice host, he was giving very nice tips. Very clean and cosy."

"The twin room was next to the kitchen where people came in and had very loud concersations until 2.30am and the first people in the morning arrived at 6.30am. The only windows where to the kitchen and the hallway and there was no fresh air. Over all too hot and too noisy to get enough sleep."

Good location near beach in Nelson

"The Beachcomber Hotel has an excellent location, across the street from a large park, with the beach just past the park. There is also restaurants very close by. Our room was a bit small but met our needs. There is not air conditioning, but a fan helped."
