Mountain Retreat with Hot Tub
We had a fantastic day at this property! The house is great and easily includes enough room for two couples with two kids, so the two of us had plenty of room. We really enjoyed the hot tub and mountain views. We were really close to one of the ski slopes, so staying here if you are a skier would be ideal. And it was just a short 10 minute walk to the local market to get supplies. The owner reached out to make sure we had everything we needed.

We had a great 4 night stay! The location and access to slopes can’t be beat. And communication with the host, Deb, was fabulous. We appreciated that the house was well stocked things like hand soap, detergent, etc. Would definitely stay again!

Nice get away from the DC area for a NYE trip. Wish there had been more snow and more trails open but this is a great location, easy access, wonderful sunsets! Will rent again in the future and enjoy the easy ski in/out access. Thank you!

Great Mountain Treeloft
Great location. Lots of room. We loved the hot tub. It was a great retreat after a much needed break. I felt like it was a writers retreat. I got to clear a lot of thoughts and the place had everything we needed.

Review of Eagle's Nest
This is a great property, in a great location. I went with a group of friends and had a great time. There are lots of options for different activities since you're on the resort so some people can ski, others can stay at the cabin and enjoy the hottub or you're also close enough to explore Charlottesville and wineries. The cabin is fully equipped with everything you'd need and the beds are really comfortable. It's a great place and I would definitely go back.

Perfect Accommodations and Location
What a wonderful place for a mountain getaway. Walk outside and right to the slopes for skiing, or right outside to the deck for a soothing soak in the hot tub. No matter what you are in the mood for, this cabin is great. Not to mention a fully-stocked kitchen and a short walk to a market and convenience store as well. The owners are extremely pleasant and very easy to work with and always make sure you have what you need. Our group had a fabulous time; we will definitely be back!

Beautiful Cozy and Clean
This is the second time renting here and both times have been Amazing. Special shout out to the host Deb who literally was a phone call away to immediately answer any questions! Such a cozy private warm vibe to this home for cooking and reading and quiet respite from the daily adventures! Super stocked kitchen and abundant towels/ linens. Incredibly CLEAN and wonderful views with great natural lighting from windows all along the back of the home. Easy day trips we enjoyed were hiking Crabtree Falls , biking along the Ty river, walking thru the blue ridge mile long train tunnel, and a trip to the impressive D Day Memorial. Thank you Deb!!!

30th birthday celebration for our daughter
We came up for a long weekend to celebrate our daughters 30th birthday. The house is well equipped and looked just as pictured. The owner reached out to make sure all was well and was prompt to handle one small issue we had. We enjoyed the hot tub and the large dining table was great for playing games. The beds are comfortable too. We skied one day and it was nice to be able to walk to the house for lunch since it it right off the slopes. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect for a skiing family
I stayed at Eagles Nest for a weekend with my two sons (7 and 8). The house was perfect. The boys loved the upstairs loft bedroom with the two twins, and the Wii game was definitely a big plus. I thought that the bathrooms were quite nice - definitely upgraded from others I have seen, and the kitchen was very well equipped. The furniture and carpeting was obviously very new and all was very clean and well maintained - including the hot tub which we used twice. I have stayed several times at Wintergreen in a variety of homes and condos, and this one was the most comfortable and well appointed that we have seen.

Great house and great location, but disappointing
The house would be great and the location is good for a visit to the Blue Ridge area of Virginia. The reason for only 3 stars was due to the run-down condition of the property, the lack of cleanliness, the inoperable gas grill, and the uncomfortable mattress. Those factors ruined what should have been a 5 star review.

Eagle's Swoop weekend retreat
My wife and I just enjoyed a great weekend retreat in Eagle's Swoop. We found the house exactlty as advertised. It was perfect for us, but would have easily accomodated another couple, or a larger family. The two master bedrooms were comfortably furnished. The loft would have been a great adventure for kids. The house is well equipped and attractively furnished. There was a ample supply of firewood. The hot tub was a great way to soak out the kinks from our 1 1/2 drive from Richmond. The appliances in the kitchen are first rate. There were other houses nearby occupied but we never heard any other activity. Our intention was to be sedentary all weekend and we succeeded. For those looking for easy slope access during ski season, the walk would have been about 150 feet to slopeside. We got exactly what we were looking for in Eagle's Swoop. We'll be back.

Probably better for skiing in winter
Property was ok nothing in particular stood out. There was no mountain view from anywhere on the deck. Flooring in the house, bathrooms, and general decor need updating. The kitchen utensils, fry pans, and pots, were old and of the type that seemed to be discarded by the owners. The property seemed more like a camp than a resort property. There was mold on the bathroom curtain that required us to wash the curtain before use. Otherwise the place seemed clean, but as a cabin the woods, susceptible to spiders and ants. The property was close to the Wintergreen Lodge, however the pools, the exclusive restaurant, and the fishing ponds are not available to the lessors of this property. This was a disappointment but in fairness we should have checked this out before hand. The property served our purpose and in general was adequate. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and the price was reasonable. Coffee in the morning on the deck was peaceful. I suspect this would be very convenient and reasonable place for a ski trip. This is a nice area for adults but we found little to do for a the teenager and the child in our party. We were there over the memorial day holiday.

Old and over furnished. Needs cleaning
This could be nice, but too much furniture and too large. Old! Furniture needs to be updated and smaller. Unit needs thorough cleaning. Cabinets need to Be emptied and much of stuff thrown away. Blinds are in poor condition. Need to provide a blower so someone can Clean deck. Outside furniture should be replaced. Bottom line, we would not re-rent. The cleaning charge does not reflect any value added. Stove was very poor and dirty.

Underwear under the master bed when leaving, and it was not ours.
We were looking forward to a fun ski trip, our 5th annual as a family. I am not one to review harshly but I would like to give the owners a chance to improve their home for the next guests. The shower curtains were not really shower curtains and they simply collected water which smelled like urine upon entering the house. The spiral stairs have sections of wood which will detach as you walk down. The hot tub had a ring of what can only be described as "Human Lard" around the edge. Very gross. If the owners need to contact me I am available to help them make it better. It would be criminal to recommend this house to others unless these items are addressed.

Great ski lodging for a family
We stayed at this property with a family of five - mom and dad plus two teenagers and a 9-year old. The sleeping set-up provided a separate bed for all 3 kids, which they appreciated! Skiers can’t beat the house’s location, which is at the top of a blue/Intermediate slope - Eagle’s Swoop. You simply cross the culdesac on foot to enter the slope. Note that beginning or cautious skiers would need to drive by car down to the green/Beginner main slope area. We appreciated the full kitchen and upscale gas stove and took advantage of this to cook often. There are limited dining options at Wintergreen, so we like to bring groceries. (There are also groceries available at a premium price in the small market on property.). The outdoor hot tub is a nice added amenity, and you can even glimpse skiers go by at a distance from one side of the tub. We recommend this property for a family of 5-6 seeking a cozy winter getaway! PS - Be sure to snow tube on The Plunge!! No skiing experience required. We had no idea how much we would love this; it was thrilling and FAST!! Made mom feel like a kid again.
