"I really liked the hotel but did not like the location. There was trash on the ground when we walked to dinner. There were people sleeping on the sidewalk, asking for money as we passed by. There were several erotic stores in the same block. But the staff were great and I really liked our room, very clean, well maintained."

Place Rouppe a bit of a dump imho but seemingly safe enough and some might regard it as ‘trendy’.
