Naples city of the Sun and the Sea and 2500 years of history awaits you

The Accommodation ::
Relais MAFOLI 'is a bright late 19th century manor house, located in the heart of historic Naples.
The position between the centers of historical / cultural interest and transport areas is strategic for an unforgettable travel experience.
The family palace, built by the owner's ancestors, is in fact located in the central Corso Umberto I, very close to both the most beautiful streets and squares of the city such as Piazza del Gesù, Piazza San Domenico Maggiore, via Duomo, via Spaccanapoli, easily reachable from walk, both to the Central Station, to the Metro and to the Circumvesuviana (all two hundred meters from the Palace) and eight hundred meters from the Port.

It will therefore be quick and easy to plan a trip to the nearby islands of Capri, Ischia or Procida or take a walk through the excavations of Pompeii or visit Positano or Amalfi. The apartment comfortably accommodates 8 people. It has a large entrance hall, 2 double bedrooms, 2 single bedrooms, 1 living room with double sofa bed, 2 bathrooms with shower, kitchen with dining table and free WI-FI.

Lovely Naples apartment
We had two lovely nights in Vittorio's apartment. It is on the main road and is close enough to walk to everything, The apartment is spacious and air conditioned, so cool after a hot day of exploring. It has a faded, quirky grandeur about it that we found appealing. We didn’t cook, but the kitchen seemed to have everything. Vittorio is a very welcoming and attentive host, and we would recommend Vittorios place. Thank you Vittorio.

Napoli stay June 2024
The appartment is as advertised. On the 4th floor but there is a lift. Nice small balcony overlooking the street. The street is VERY busy. There is noise pretty well all through the night. Emergency vehicles, horns...LOTS of horns. The location os great. Less than 10min walk to the train station and a 12 Euro ride or 30min walk to the Spanish Quarters. Or the docks. The interior could use a facelift but it is an old building with old school charm. Bathrooms are tiny and the shower is comparable to a camp shower. There is a kitchen but we did not use it. Seems well stocked though. Lots of restaurants around as well. If we had to we would stay again.

Good Location for sightseeing
Excellent location for transport links to all major attractions such as Pompei, Vesuvious, Sorrento and even Rome. Communication from host prior to our stay excellent including provision of lots of info provided within the apartment, maps, brochures etc. However very noisy with being on the main road so we found sleeping a little difficult and beds very firm! Apartment itself is very spacious but we felt better suited to 6 people (We were party of 7) using the 3 double bedrooms as the single room adjoins and is accessed via one of these doubles which restricts privacy and using the sofa bed in the lounge means minimal communal area to sit or eat together. Showers powerful enough but pretty small and also is fridge for the potential ammount of guests. Listing says "Hot tub"but we found no sign of this? Overall we enjoyed our stay but agree with some previous reviews that the apartment is tired and is need of some upgrading.

Naples Long weekend
This is a big apartment, centrally located which accommodated 8 adults with ease. We had everything we needed and a great choice of cafes for breakfast in the neighbourhood. Having two bathrooms was very useful for the group and kitchen facilities for coffee and snacks etc. Our host Vittorio was always on hand if we needed him and checked in with us on our first day. Would recommend for any group wanting a great apartment in a great location!

Great choice and host
We had a great stay at Vittorio's property who was a very responsive host. The property is well located on a busy street, but night up so the location is only an advantage. It is spacious and has all you need, and well priced. The place is a little dated, but not in any way that is a problem, and we loved the balconies and large rooms. One thing to note is that parking is about 5mins walk away and not included. Overall recommended.

A Great Apartment
We stayed at Vittorio’s Naples Flat and what a great stay. Pros: Vittorio is a GREAT HOST! He was quick with good recommendations and things to see which gave us a head start on things to see. The apartment is centrally located in the downtown/old-town portion of Naples. You are within a 30 minute walk to everything in Naples. History, shopping, food, adventure are all just steps away. There are shops right downstairs and a great coffee shop called Nayman Cafe. Of course everyone wants pizza, my family tried more than our share and we truly loved Pizzeria D’Angeli - get the Vesuvius! Yes it’s a touristy name but you will enjoy every bite. The “exploding lemonades” from the stand across the street are a MUST. The day you arrive and the day you depart you will be so very grateful for the lift! Con’s: As with any city parking is tight and comes at a premium price and sometimes there is a fair amount road noise - both of these things are beyond Vittorios control. Vittorio thank you for being such a wonderful host. We will absolutely be staying here on our next visit to Naples.

Authentic Italian apartment in Napoli
Stayed for a week. Apartment is in an excellent location for exploring Napoli and the surrounding area. Garibaldi Station in a few minutes walk away and the Metro at Doumo is in the other direction along Corso Umberto I. There are some fantastic pizzerias just around the corner from the apartment. Lots of different markets in the smaller streets off of Umberto. Clothes, bags, sunglasses etc and fish, vegetables, fruit etc Apartment facilities are good. Beds are very comfortable and the 2 larger ones are very spacious. Kitchen has the basics but we didn’t do any cooking just brewed some coffee. There’s a little cafe outside the main door that sells gorgeous pastries. And lots of shops selling everything you need nearby. We got the train from Garibaldi to Pompeii and Herculaneum. We spent some time in the Toledo area, visited the Maradonna murals just off the Main Street in Toledo. Went to the beautiful Galleria Umberto, saw the Caravaggio exhibition in the Galleria d’Italia, went to the Archaeological Museum. And spent time in the evenings down near the port, Castel del’Ovo where you’ll find lots of bars and restaurants as well as the beautiful view looking towards Capri and Sorrento. So much to explore and definitely the best pizza in the world!

This is a beautiful apartment in a great location! It is so spacious and such a lovely home to return to at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. Vittorio was excellent with communication and sent us lots of great information on Naples before we arrived. The cleaner met us at the apartment on our arrival and she was lovely too! We would highly recommend this accommodation to other travelers.

Great base for exploring Naples and surrounding areas
Had a lovely time in Naples, perfect location for exploring as only a few minutes from the train stations - tip, use Porta Nolana instead of Garibaldi, far quieter as first stop so you get a seat before everyone else gets on 30 seconds later at Garibaldi and it’s closer too to the apartment. A win-win. 25 minute walk to the port for the ferries so all within easy reach. Vittorio checked in with us through the week, made us feel very welcomed. Very spacious apartment, bathrooms quite small relatively but that was fine, good there were two of them. I loved having a piano there too. Was what I imagined a typical Italian apartment would be really, yes, the odd crack in the walls that you’d expect from a place built 130 years ago, slightly tired in places but it was authentic and characteristic. Overall a very good place to stay with a charming host, thank you Vittorio!

Vittorio is an Awesome Host
We stayed in this property during a very hot spell and the two air conditioners struggled to keep up - one stopped working halfway through our stay. One of the bedrooms at the far end of the apartment is not air conditioned and it was uncomfortably warm. We did not do any cooking in the unit - ate in nearby restaurants and bought breakfast pastries at a shop just outside the apartment so I really can't comment on the kitchen. The apartment is located close to transportation and as our planned activities were all outside of Naples it was well situated for us; however, this part of Naples is pretty "gritty" - dirty and lots of apparent vagrants. Vittorio is a true gentleman. He checked in with us electronically every day and offered to help when one of our teenage grandsons had a bit of a medical issue. He provided lots of advice regarding things to do and is obviously proud of his city. Overall, I would recommend this as an affordable and convenient place to stay if you are considering day trips to Pompeii or the Amalfi coast.

Lovely stay in the heart of Naples
We had a wonderful stay in Naples and Vittorio was a dream host. The property is ideally located for visiting Naples and the surrounding area, we could either walk to key sights, hop into a taxi or take the short walk to the station to access Pompeii, Vesuvius, Sorrento etc. The property is lovely and spacious with all of the basics you could need for a short or long stay. The piano was a real bonus and great entertainment for our daughter in between her enjoying the corridor to run up and down! Vittorio was in contact from when we made our booking, offering us advice for key sights and on arrival in Naples there to greet us and let us in. He was touch whenever was needed during our stay for any questions also. Overall a wonderful stay in Naples, would highly recommend!

Vittorio is an amazing host. He went out of his way for us and was so helpful, giving helpful hints and advice on restaurants and things to see in the city. Helping us secure tickets was priceless; the game was magical. The apartment is incredibly spacious and nice. It was nice that it had a separate sitting area and lots of balconies. We hope to return to Naples, and if we do, we hope to see Vittorio and stay in the apartment again. Don’t hesitate to book this place.

A warm welcome to a wet Naples
Vittorio (partner of Gigliola) was extremely welcoming and met our daughter who arrived on her own some hours before the official book-in time. He even accompanied her to the local shops for provisions. He also answered any requests for help immediately. The flat is on the fourth floor which is good since the road below is a little busy - fortunately the lift works. Our only observation was that the flat felt a little 'tired'. The location is excelllent since it is near to Garibaldi station which means that you can easily access the many attractions that Naples has to offer. Many thanks to Vittorio for his warm welcome.

Great apartment, awesome host
Vittorio is by far the best host I have had: his enthusiasm, love of hosting and great pride in his city is evident from the first communication. The apartment is spacious, a little eccentric, well placed and feels in a safe location. If you are a light sleeper there is road noise and also noise from the list, but you’re on a large road in a major city so it’s not too intrusive all things considered. Loved the unit, loved Naples, loved Vittorio. Thank you for hosting us!

LOVE the host. LOVE the beautiful apartment!
I can't even begin to explain how generous the host was--he met us at 7am and took us to a great cafe to sip coffee after our all-night 'cruise' from Palermo, telling us great stories about his love of Naples while we waited for the previous tenants to vacate. Such a gentleman, in the classic old-school Italian version of the word. And, best of all, his absolute number one recommendation for ***the best*** pizzaria in Napoli (and, hence, the world) was exactly the pizzaria that I had already found to be the best--Trianon da Ciro.--which, not by chance, is located a block away. When I next come back to Napoli, you can bet I'll be staying here again--absolutely loved it! (though, with all of our leftover pizza, we could have used a bigger fridge, but that's so minor as to not really matter at all).

Clean and Convenient
This was a good location in central Napoli. We called the owner as we approached the city, and he met us at the door and helped us get unloaded. He then went with my husband to show him where to park the car (tricky in Napoli)! He explained everything about the apartment and made suggestions of where to eat, what to see, etc. He was most gracious and helpful. The apartment was perfect for the four of us. A five-star experience!!
