Trading on the Location!
This is a funky studio in a great location close to Ahuriri port in Napier. We loved the design, the greenery and elevation to distant sea views, without being too inaccessible. The bedrooms are small but the beds were comfortable. There were a few areas we really liked (location, balcony, quiet, birdsong). Parking is easy and the walks up to Bluff Hill are worth it, However we would have rated the experience higher but there are a number of areas we believe the owner/property manager need to address:My dad, his wife and I, drove from Auckland to Wellington over 10 days. In all our stays (Auckland, Raglan, Rotorua, Napier & Wellington) this property was the most expensive with the least value for money.1. Booking was clunky re payment especially without an NZ bank account.2. The hot tub looked awesome but is was set at 37.5 degrees. It was boiling to submerge in for more than 30 secs. We subsequently did not utilise this perk which was part of our reason why we booked the place.3. The kitchen was randomly stocked and not really conducive to home cooking beyond breakfast.4. The nice touches around the place were let down by the cheap products in the shower and kitchen. Many homeshare places offer extra treats and quality goods, especially as this was on the higher price end.5. Garbage bin was full with no room for our bag. we put the bins out on the street and brought them in. Surely a property manager does this? Not a big deal but still nice not to have to do it.
