Upstate Cabin with Hot Tub

On the southern border of Catskill Park, The Rondout is a 1960's log cabin w/hot tub, nestled in three acres of forest near the hamlet of Grahamsville.

The cabin has a large master bedroom and a second sunroom with queen-sized couch/bed. The space is great for work-from-home (with two sitting/standing Branch desks) or relaxing in a comfortable lounge that has a huge projector screen and fireplace for those chillier evenings. The Roundout has a fully equipped dine-in kitchen, outdoor grill, and a stone hearth/BBQ in the garden.

For the more adventurous, the cabin is close to some of the north-east's finest fly-fishing rivers, as well as several ski resorts and the mountains and trails of Catskill Park and the Shawangunk range.

The Rondout reservoir is one of the best places to see Bald Eagles (Two parking/viewing stations are located on the lake)

Our closest town is Ellenville. Livingston Manor, Narrowsburg, Callicoon, New Paltz, and Phoenicia are all within easy reach, offering a plethora of options for dining, spas, breweries, distilleries, antiquing, and the arts.

Mid winter get away
My friend and I had an amazing time. The views from the window were incredible. The space was roomy and beautiful furnished. The outdoor hot tub was very enjoyable. Overall it was a great couple of days away in the quiet of upstate NY. We also checked out the local goat sanctuary and did a winter hike with the goats which was such a fun experience. We were able to try a dinner tasting menu at Bittersweet (at Hemlock in Neversink, NY) which was beautifully prepared and delicious. Overall a great place to stay, I would highly recommend.

Cozy cabin vibes with some extra flair
Duncan’s place was adorable! We loved all the little extras like the record player, the large projector & screen, and of course the hot tub! There were cute little artistic touches with a mid century modern feel while still being super cozy and woodsy. The reservoir is just across the street and is beautiful. My husband loved trekking over and going fishing. Would definitely come back!

Another great stay!
We stayed at this cabin last year, and this time we returned with friends. The property continues to wow with its location, cleanliness, and incredible set up. Our friends loved the games and Lego sets, the fully stocked kitchen, and the hot tub. Even our little dogs were welcomed with treats. We won’t wait another year before staying again.

wonderful cabin
Roomy well equipped cabin in beautiful location. Restful, peaceful and relaxing. 3 miles from the cabin we went hiking with our puppies at a snowy winter wonderland. The cabin has everything you need including hot tub. Owner makes sure everything is tenant ready.

Absolutely perfect!
We are still talking about how much we enjoyed our getaway to this comfortable and beautifully decorated property (both inside and out). Duncan provided us with guidance and recommendations for navigating the area during our stay. The outdoor living room, between the hot tub, fireplace and hammock, was relaxation central! The house is tucked away from the main road, has a great vinyl collection, projector screen and is equipped with everything you could possibly need. The Lego art installations throughout the home are amazing! We are looking at the calendar right now to plan our next stay. Thank you Duncan!

The cabin was fantastic! Had everything you could possibly need. My boyfriend particularly loved the projection screen TV. There were even doggie treats for our dog. The hot tub was a bonus

Amazing Stay
My husband and I had an amazing stay at Duncan's cabin. The location is gorgeous and convenient to lots of restaurants, breweries, and hikes while still feeling rural and private. The cabin itself blew us away. As soon as we walked in the door, my husband and I were exclaiming that the photos just don't do it justice. It is large and roomy, impeccably clean, and decorated adorably. It is clear that everything is very well maintained and we spent a whole day just chilling in the backyard with the grill, hot tub, hammock, and firepit. There is tons of seating in the backyard, and as someone who has replaced my own retaining wall recently it is clear that Duncan spent a lot of time and money upgrading and maintaining the cabin and yard. I also LOVED the decor, all of the art and plants are made out of legos which is such a smart way to decorate instead of live plants, but what took it over the top is that Duncan has a whole labelled drawer of the manuals so you can spend a rainy afternoon doing one yourself. I can't say enough good things about this cabin. The projector screen is also a very clever way to have a huge TV without it being in the way all the time, and the sound/picture was great and it was easy to use. The kitchen was completely stocked, down to eggs and creamer in the fridge, and I love that all the cabinets were labelled so I could find every extra towel or spatula we needed. Our dogs also had a great time. There were dog cookies to welcome them, and Duncan sent us a couple of messages to let us know of local fishing trails we could take them on (after printing our fishing licenses on the printer he has in the cabin) or wildlife sightings in the area to be aware of. All in all, I'm looking forward to coming back again soon.

Perfect for families
We stayed for 4 days 3 nights with our 20 month old daughter and our lab, and it was absolutely perfect for a family vacation. It was comfortable, and the host was very responsive to any questions and accommodating. The area is great, and the outdoor space was perfect for us. It is absolutely a Catskills mountain house from the 1960s, with a ton of personality. The pictures show the space as it is in real life. We would highly recommend a visit to anyone.

Cozy Cabin with Personality and Charm!
We couldn't have dreamed up a more perfect place to stay for Thanksgiving in the Catskills! The owners have kept the charm and history of the cabin alive, yet have enhanced it with all the comforts and nice, creative details you could imagine. You can tell that they put so much love and thought into this place. We spent 4 cozy nights here and did not want to leave! The kitchen has everything you need to make a gourmet feast. The beds and bedding are first-class/beyond comfortable. There is space for privacy and for family togetherness. The cabin is in reality as charming as it looks in the pictures, but even more so when you are there in person! The stone fireplace, cushy couch surrounded by warm woodwork and neat historic features, beautiful view out the huge picture window, and extras like the piano and guitar just provide the perfect welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. You can choose to unplug and really get away from it all, or if you want, there is the added treat of an unobtrusive, easy-to-use, state-of-the-art, smart-projector system! We didn't choose the rental based on this feature, but we can see why people would!! Settle in and sit back -- a touch on the remote brings down the screen! We watched some old family videos streamed from a laptop, and enjoyed some classic Lord of the Rings together. We did venture out to enjoy the scenery (dusted in snow!) and hiked one of the many trails nearby over the long weekend. There is so much to see within a short drive, but when you come back to the cabin, you feel a million miles away from everything. We can't wait to return in the summer to experience the lovely outdoor spaces at "The Rondout" cabin and paddle around the lake! It truly is a getaway for all seasons. We cannot recommend it enough. Thanks to the owners for being so helpful with communicating/planning, and for sharing this special place with guests.
