I had a lovely stay at Raha Suites, the accommodation was exactly as described and pictured, the area was a short Uber from lots of places to eat and things to see in Westlands, Nairobi. The staff were very friendly and helpful with lots of suggestions of things to do. I came here as a solo female traveller and felt totally safe. Thank you to all the staff that looked after me, particularly Irene. I will definitely be staying here next time I’m back in Nairobi!
I booked ahead and made the payment and everything because I was traveling. I arrived at 2:00 PM to check in and there was no one at the front had to wait 30 minutes.
Later on two ladies (one who was at the front on the phone the whole time I was waiting) and one took me upstairs to my room and told me there was no electricity and it will be coming back in an hour or so. All my electronics we out of battery so I decided to nap without taking a shower (because the water was cold) I woke up four hours later and still there was no electricity. I came down stairs and again there was no one. At this point I decided to move to another hotel and forego my 5 nights stay. Waited for staff member to come for another 30 minutes and asked for help in getting a tax since my phones were not working due the electricity. She did help with an attitude (still appreciate)
Finally the room, billows, bed sheets were sprayed too much perfume without considering people might be allergic to perfumes.
It is normal for electricity to go in Nairobi but find a hotel that has back up generators.
Room was clean, stuff was friendly and supportive. Outside the property is the road with no walkway so in case you’re planning to take some walks, be sure you’re tough enough ti find your way out and avoid fancy shoes if you’re walking. Otherwise it’s a good place to be
