Private Getaway With Beautiful Views

If you want to get away from the crowds and enjoy privacy, peace, and quiet, "Forest View" is the home for you. Located just outside a gated community on a private road, this guest house is centrally located and perfect for a short or long term stay.

The home is easily accessible with no outside or inside stairs and curbless showers. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare your own meals (including a variety of herbs/spices, condiments, oils, and vinegar, ). We also supply coffee (Keurig and Mr. Coffee), tea, and hot chocolate.
There is a Generac whole-house generator for those unexpected and PG&E-scheduled power outages. There are smart tv's in every room to enable access to your favorite shows and high speed WiFi for all of your devices. We have a level two 40 amp car charger (adapter needed for Teslas) available for a small fee.

Enjoy the spectacular views and sunsets on the large deck including dining for six, a gas fire pit, a gas grill, and a Blackstone gas griddle.

Children are welcome. However, the home is not child-proofed and may not be suitable for children under five.

Owners are located on the property if anything else is needed. (Your privacy is very well respected.)

Perfect home for secluded getaway
We had a lovely weekend at this comfortable house that perfectly suited our needs. We had easy access to Murphy's but were able to find peace and relaxation at this private location away from the crowds.

Always a wonderful stay
Arlene and Adam are the best. We have been here a few times and we will be back again. The view and peaceful setting keep us coming back. It's a quick drive to Murphys for wine tasting.

Cozy, clean, wonderful, fabulous house in the mountains!
This is a 6 star VRBO! The house is wonderful, it is brand new and has everything you want for a cozy place in the mountains. We spent a few days here, you are in a quiet area, remote but close to Murphys and Arnold and get the best of both worlds. The hosts are great and we’d definitely stay here again!!

Terrific House - Great for People with Mobility Issues
We LOVED staying at Arlene and Adam's house - so comfortable, perfect amount of room for 2 couples. Arlene's kitchen is the most well appointed kitchen and was perfect for our group. Bonus points for no stairs and walk in showers made it a great fit for my friend who uses a cane. THANKS VERY MUCH for the stay, we really enjoyed it.

The Perfect Place

Beautiful and serene
I stayed at Forest View with my husband, son and his friend. All four of us were more than impressed with the view and accommodations. Arlene was great making sure everything was ready for our arrival. I can't say enough about this property and its owners. If we visit again, we will be sure to rent this property again.

Better than the pictures!
One of the nicest places we've ever rented. It feels like you're in the tree tops on a mountain. View is amazing and the home is so well done with all the modern finishes but still retains that cozy feeling. You do have to drive up a mountain to get there but it's an absolutely amazing place.

Beautiful Mountain Retreat
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful mountain retreat outside Murphys, CA. The views from the house were amazing and the house was decorated so nicely! I loved the special touches in the house like an Amazon Alexa, snacks in the fridge, and plenty of toiletries and supplies in the bathrooms. The communication with the owners Arlene and Adam was wonderful and easy. It was more like staying with a friend than in a rental!

Amazing view and home
My husband and I came down for a Mother’s Day weekend with our 3 kids and had a great time. You get a breath taking view, beautiful house that is supplied with so much and the owners are very quick to respond if you need anything. Arlene and her husband also left a cake for us for the special occasion, which we truly appreciated and enjoyed. We will definitely book here in the future. Great for a couple or family. Highly recommend.

Remote mountain home, that’s very accesible
Very easy checkin and communication with the owners prior to our visit and during the stay. Both owners were responsive and helpful. The home is very clean and modern, fully stocked kitchen modern appliances. Nice bathrooms. The deck has an incredible view, very good place to hangout and relax. It feels secluded, but short drives to to Murphys other towns in the area. The recent storms affected internet service and the owners were proactive in solving it.

Dream House
The home had everything you could ever need. It was immaculate. Everything was very clean, new appliances, cozy beds, great views. The kitchen is better equipped than mine! A large porch with outside barbecue, griddle, firepit, a large patio table. The view into the woods is breath taking. Very relaxing and very hard to leave. Arlene was an amazing host. She was so helpful & easy to communicate with.

Best VRBO house I've ever stayed at
Apparently, this custom home was built just a few years ago. Located on a hill in a secluded gated community, the quality of building materials and home furnishings is really impressive. It's equipped with literally everything you need. The showers are excellent and there's individual AC controls in every room. The spacious back deck provides unobstructed views across the forest to rolling hills on the horizon. It's a 15-minute drive down to Murphys. Oh, and the hosts/owners are cool people who live further up the hill. I'd definitely stay there again.

Perfect place!
We wanted to get away for a fews days for my Birthday and found this jem. Arlene was an amazing host. She communicated everything so clearly and was always quick to respond. We came during a heat wave so she made sure to turn on the AC 30mins before we arrived and we are all grateful for that lol. The home is perfect for two couples. The kitchen, dinningroom and livingroom is open and great for hanging out together. Head out to the clean deck in the evenings, BBQ and watch the sunset. We had a great time and hope to come back in the future!

Home away from home
This truly is a home away from home. Bring your personal belongings and you will want for nothing else. Everything you need is already there for you. We spent Christmas 2024 here and we cooked, baked, bbq, skied, laughed, sat by the fire and made memories. The cabin is immaculate and everything from the moment we confirmed our booking until we left was seamless. Owners were wonderful and great with communication. There is acres and views for days so while the owners are on property they are extremely respectful. And honestly it was comforting to know they weren’t too far in case we needed anything which we didn’t. We are looking at the calendar now to see when we can go back. This is truly a very special property.

Perfect family trip
I stayed here with my 5yro twins and husband. The house was perfect, it had everything we needed and more. We went to Murphys to take our boys to the snow but since the first day was rainy, we spent it indoors. We played board games, worked on puzzles, took baths (in a bathtub with the view of the forest) and cooked dinner. The kitchen is fully stocked and has everything you need. The next day we went to Bear Valley, which is only about a 40 minute drive. The location of this home is so convenient, it's close to Murphys downtown and Arnold so it's perfect if you want to go out to dinner and participate in snow activities. I highly recommend this house and can't wait to return! Thank you Arlene and Adam!

Ideal Property in the Sierra Foothills
The actual property is even better than the VRBO pictures! Let's be honest, most VRBO pictures are better than actual property. However, that is not the case with Arlene and Adam's specifically created vacation rental. It is very well designed with attention to detail and well thought out extras that will surprise you. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need from new high quality cookware, knives, and tools to all of the items needed for baking and roasting. We usually travel to other VRBO locations with our own base kitchen tools (frying pan, knives, tongs, etc.), because most of the time the cookware is questionable and the knives are dull. Not at this location! Besides being well designed, Arlene and Adam have thought through what one might have forgotten to pack (toothbrush, shaving kit, hats, flashlights, etc.), which just adds to your experience. As for the hosts, Adam and Arlene are very responsive, accommodating, and will help make your stay very enjoyable!

Relaxing and Chilling in Murphys
We were fortunate to stay at Adam and Arlene's guesthouse for six nights. It was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed the house and the amenities so much that we really did not want to do much else besides relax and cook. The house is warm and inviting; beautifully decorated; and has everything you need for a great stay. The kitchen is well-equipped with most everything you will need, even spices. You could even cook Thanksgiving dinner there, if needed. The hosts have thought of almost everything to make your stay pleasant. There's even an outdoor griddle and a BBQ pit. The bedrooms are comfortable and the bathrooms have top-notch amenities. We enjoyed sitting on the back deck and looking at the surrounding views--and watching the birds in the trees. While in a gated community, you are "tucked away" in the hills and do not really feel that you are in a gated community. In fact, we hardly saw anyone except when we took some country drives. We're already longing to return again for more "down time". Thanks to Arlene and Adam for the extra nice hospitality.

Wonderful hosts and stay
In early September, we stayed at Arlene and Adam’s beautiful two-bedroom guest house and we fell in love with it! Our first impression when we walked in the door was the “new home” smell and how beautifully decorated it was. Your eyes are immediately drawn to the many windows and the glass sliding doors that present the breath-taking view of the valley/canyon. Since we like to prepare many of our meals, we were very impressed with the well-stocked kitchen. Arlene and Adam have provided nearly every cooking utensil/tool and appliance that you would possibly need. They also told us that if there was anything else we needed to text them and they took care of it right away. The family room is open to the kitchen and furnished with comfortable seating and has a warm, homey atmosphere. The two bedrooms are large, beautifully decorated, have plenty of closet space, and a TV in each bedroom. The beds are very comfortable and we particularly noticed how the bed’s sheets/blankets are made up like what you might expect at a luxury hotel. The master bathroom is spacious with a large comfortable tub and a separate tiled, glass-door shower. Arlene and Adam even included an iron and ironing board, a blow dryer and other hospitality toiletries such as spare toothbrushes, mouthwash, combs, etc. in case you forgot them at home. The main bathroom also was very nice. We really enjoyed sitting out on the large deck to view the beautiful valley/canyon which was furnished with plenty of seating and a brand-new grill and separate griddle for outdoor cooking. On two of the mornings, we saw several deer walk right below our deck. One evening when we were returning from Murphy’s to the guest house, we encountered two adolescent bears right in front of us on the road. On the side of the house were two hammocks that you could enjoy and relax. Being wine tasters, we appreciated the nearness to Murphy’s with all of its wine tasting rooms and restaurants. We loved our stay so much that we are planning to return at the end of October.
