"No space to move. Shower cubicle encrusted with grime, basin without hot water, no toilet paper. Nobody available to assist with anything. Guests are given a contact number, but get hung up on if they ring it. On the plus side, the bed was reasonably comfortable. Seriously, do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else."

"Communication with the host (Hanny) was very good. She responded promptly after we requested information a few days prior to our stay via e-mail. The location of the appartement is away from the village of Marbach going up the mountain (you need a car to get there). The appartment is on the top floor of the farm house. Guy is extremely responsive, provided great directions to get to his apartment and included step-by-step instruction (including pictures) on how to get the key and get to the apartment - this is useful when you arrive at an unknown place for the first time. "Convenient to everything in Interlaken. Train station is next door so very easy to use public transportation. We had a car so we needed to have the private parking in rear of building. The apartment is located on the first floor of the building with several other apartment above. The apartment has two bedrooms and one bath, a kitchen, and a living room area with a dining table. Everything was spotlessly clean. Communication with host was great and access to apartment was easy."

"Denka and her husband are friendly people. The kitchen and bathrooms are very nice. They keep the apartment very clean. There are two qualities we look for in vacation properties, cleanliness and comfort. They pass with high marks on cleanliness but are an absolute failure on comfort. "Diarmund and Kashi are wonderful hosts to this lovely set of homes. We had Dep 3 which is the top floor penthouse of one of their properties. We loved having Matten as our neighborhood because it’s next to Interlaken but not in it (plus the entire region is very small so the borders don’t matter much). "Rooms were extremely hot and weren’t ventilated. Internet was super slow. So many bugs in and outside the stay. As well the door handle literally came off just from trying to close it. As well when we arrived we found a towel that was covered in blood. "

"This hotel is great for anyone looking for a cheap base in the Bern area. The rooms were clean and well equipped, with a kitchen and a hob to prepare food if wanted (there is also an Aldi about 50m away) The beds were relatively comfortable and extra pillows were provided when asked. The only cons would be the location is effectively in an industrial estate by a train line, and can get quite noisy."
