"We spent four nights using the lodge as a base of visiting Kruger Park. It is spacious and clean, but the combination of load shedding ( not the owner’s fault) and a lack of hot water for two whole days and no water at all for our first night, made for a less than satisfactory experience, The furniture is old and in need of refurbishing, there are no window screens, so the choice was to close everything up to keep the insects out and use the ceiling fans, or to open the windows for air and...

"My and my family stayed at Kruger Kumba for 2 nights in early Jan , needless to say it was quite hot - 37 degrees . The property over all is good but there were some issues which i would specify : 1) There is only one air conditioner in the lounge which is not sufficient for the rooms on a hot day ( even after keeping all windows and doors closed) 2) The Braai equipment was not cleaned and gave an ick , Requesting the owner to address this kindly 3) There were no basic toiletries provided...

"Location was good and decks were nice. Owners were very responsive. The house overall was a bit too rustic for me. More importantly, had I known that there were daily power outages at the time of booking I would have definitely booked a lodge with a generator. "

"Kruger Park Lodge in general is a very nice property. The property is very well kept, clean and well looked after. The facilities are great with the hippo hide where you can watch hippos safely as well as an extremely nice golf course on the property with impala walking on the course. The pool area is very nice and the restaurant (G’s) is good. There is also a lapa area where they do a traditional braai (think bbq on steroids) and a river area you can walk to. "Nice friendly helpful staff, not the best view from our lodge it was sugar cane field and a petrol station. Sofa beds aren’t great it was like sleeping on the floor. "

Exceptional in Every Detail

"This was a very special chance for my daughter and I to visit Kruger Park. So I opted for a special place to stay - Kruger Shalati. We stayed in a train car on the bridge. It was elegant, quiet, and spacious with a spectacular view. Below us in the river was abundant wildlife including hippos. We enjoyed an all inclusive plan with superb dining, gracious service, and two daily safaris with exceptional guides (shout out to Lisa!) I stay in hotels 100+ nights a year and this ranks as one of the finest resorts I’ve ever experienced."
