Had a great time ..the host Glen was awesome the nights was calm quiet and beautiful..I definitely recommend this place for your next vacation stay not to far from volcano national forest or Hilo Hawaii thx Boggy..
This property is beautiful! We had a lovely stay, the place was clean and comfortable & Glen & his wife were friendly & great hosts. So happy we found this great place to stay!
Glen is a friendly, attentive host who doesn’t intrude on your visit. The living area is clean, has everything you need and is comfortable. The outdoor kitchen, bath, and shower are clean and well equipped. This place is perfect for those who want privacy and be off grid.
Glenn was a great host, we stayed 4 nights and i haven't slept that well in a long time. Property was beautiful and the outdoor shower was a really neat experience. We want one for ourselves. Can't say enough about this guy, we had a blast and can't wait to get back again. Thanks for the great stay, Glenn.
We enjoyed getting to know our hosts, the lovely Glen and Lisa. Because we were off-grid, the location of the property was secluded, quiet, and rustic, which we really liked. Our room was clean and our total experience was more like "Delightful Glamping". Mark and Kathie
Our stay was really exceptional with Glen being a terrific host, making sure that we were comfortable and had all that we needed during our stay at his place. This is off-grid living, but we enjoyed every minute including the outdoor shower (WOW!) made with lava rocks and cozy kitchen where we cooked most of our meals. At Glen's place, you are surrounded by Hawaiian nature and we awoke every morning to the sounds of rainforest birds inviting us to explore the best of the Big Island! This is a must stay!
My wife and 1 year old daughter stayed at Glen and Lisa’s new farm. The property is located deep in fern acres which, for some, might be not ideal but for those like us that were looking for a quiet getaway experience it was perfect. It was close enough to Volcanoes National Park and Hilo that it made planning our days easy. The bathroom and outdoor shower were both phenomenal and very clean. On top of all of this, Glen and Lisa are genuinely great people, were a pleasure to be around and were very generous. Thanks for the fun time and everything you provided!

This place is a dilapidated old house l would not dare to take one step in for fear it would collapse on me sitting behind a heavy heavy rusted out cattle gate didn't look like its been opened for years no sign,no address posted the neighbors in the area never heard of it and they chased me out of there and followed me till l was almost to Hilo
My wife and I had the best stay at glens fern acre is the best ..Glen is an amazing host after a nigh in a b&b I rented from the main land weeks prior to our arrival was not at all a place we wanted to stay the week I had payed for the nights stay was so bad we left at 5am
and did not return. I found the add form glens B&B was billed as pet friendly. I had bought a few nights but they was not to start I texted Glen to see if we can g a day early and glen was more then willing to let us come over a day early.. we spent the next 3weeks there the nights were beautiful the night sky’s was so beautiful Glen was a great boast ..this place is a bit down the road from the Main Street of Volcano and is worth the drive you just can’t beat the nights out in fern aces
I needed a place to stay while I was arranging a new residence in the area. I know the area and had been wondering about Fern Acres specifically. The area of the neighborhood was fairly quiet. The property is well maintained, and the room is nice and clean. We made pizza in the brick oven one evening. Delicious! I used the kitchen most nights. I loved the stone walled outdoor shower. HOT water with the option of a rainforest view. I am tall, so the king size bed was appreciated and quite comfortable. The owners were incredibly friendly and accommodating. I had a wonderful time and will recommend this property to anyone I know that is visiting the Big Island.
