Charming Home in Mountain View

Newly remodeled home on a two acre property will provide you a real taste of big island living. Peaceful and relaxing environment. Fresh mountain air. Magnificent native foliage. Comfortable cool climate.

Explore the island by kayaking in Hilo Bay. Complimentary rental of two ocean kayaks for the guests listed in the booking.

The property is located between Hilo town (30 min drive) and the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (25 min drive), convenient to explore the windward side of the island.

Our duplex home consists of three bedroom main house and one bedroom/guest house. Both units are currently being rented out. The units are separated by laundry room and carport - the shared space with other guests.

The three-bedroom main house (right side of the duplex house) is bright with lots of natural sun light and breezy trade winds.
Each bedroom has a comfortable king size bed with 100% cotton sheets. A full size pull-out sofa in the living room sleeps additional two guests.
The kitchen is equipped with a full size refrigerator, electric range, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, rice cooker, and other essentials for cooking. The bathrooms are furnished with clean towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner and hair dryer. Other amenities include Smart TV, washer and dryer.

Our water comes from the rain water catchment system, very common for this island. It is filtered by UV light system, but it may not be best for drinking. You may want to bring your own bottled water.
The laundry room and carport are common area to be shared with other guests
staying in one bedroom guest house.
The gate lock code and other check in instructions will be provided a day before your arrival.

With many other choices out there, we appreciate you choosing to stay with us and we look forward to helping make your stay as comfortable as possible. Please feel free to inquire if you have any questions. Thank you!

If you would like to reserve the entire house that can sleep up to 14 guests, please contact the host

Your Hilo/Volcano Home Base
Enoyed out stay as we visited the Volcano and Hilo regions of Hawai'i. This home was very clean and open. Beds were comfortable and accommodating for my family. We loved the sound of the frogs during the night and the rain showers. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Very pleasant stay!

Delightful place for family
This is a great place in a quiet area of locals, not in a major hotel district. We loved being on the windward (wet, lush) side of the island, not far from Hilo. My highlights/favorites: - kitchen has a good range of pans, dishes, spices, and tupperware for making and storing our own meals (we did breakfast and dinners at home most days). Similarly, I love that they really had sufficient dishes, cups, and utensils for 8 people. - Our kids loved having king size beds (since they had to share) which were roomier than the standard queen size beds. - In addition to the pictured kayak, there was a large tote with boogey boards, snorkeling gear and life vests (mostly in kid sizes) which were open for our use, and which came in handy. - The host warned the water might not be to our liking, but we thought it tasted great. - The house was clean, well organized, and comfortably apportioned. - The home is perfectly situated between Volcano National Park and Hilo. (We did not need to contact the host during our stay.) Quirks: - There is no centralized ventilation in the house, just breezes through windows. Given the humidity, wet clothes hung up have difficulty drying unless you use the dryer. - The frogs are fairly loud at night, but after the first night, we had become accustomed and it did not disturb our sleep. (Frogs will probably be loud anywhere on the west aide of the island.) Overall, we would gladly stay there again! We had a wonderful time!

Property was accommodating as noted and accompanied all our needs as far as essentials. As much as it rained, we actually enjoyed the sound of it during the nights (really only time we were at property). If you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the town, this place gets you out there 😉 washer and dryer are always welcoming at vacation time

Great stay, nice cozy property
Enjoyed our stay here, no complaints. The host does not provide laundry detergent, a slight inconvenience, the oven was not working but the host was unaware of it. Natasha is very responsive. The place was very clean and had plenty of dishes and cups. Bathrooms were also nice/clean with all toiletries provided. Overall would recommend this place.

Awesome host and great home to stay
We had a great time there despite the constant down pour in the area where ever we went. Apparently Feb Is the rainiest month in that area near the volcano park. Natasha was very responsive to my questions and the house was really well stocked with all the gadgets and supplies that I need. Having to open and close the gate in the dark with the down pour was a bit difficult and I had to use my phone. Would be useful if there is a flash light tied to the gate. There are a not a lot of option for dining out or grocery shopping in the immediate neighborhood but there are markets in about 15 mins drive. The coffee bean that was had in the house was super good (not sure of the brand name). We will definitely stay in the place again.

Great quiet home in between Hilo and the National Park
Clean home, comfortable beds, quiet property. Hosts were very kind and even brought some cookie sheets/glass pan for us to use in cooking (looks like they got misplaced). A great spot away from Hilo but doesn’t feel too remote and super close to the national park!
