"I've been driving by The Shoe for over 40 years and finally took the opportunity to spend a weekend there with life-long friends. It.Was.Fantastic!!!! It's cozy, cool, creative, and full of history! We were thankful for rainy weather because we did not want to leave! Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU to the owners and host for preserving this iconic York County site and for the perfect place to have a mini-vacay with my girls!"

"The house is in a great location. Super quiet and friendly area. The house itself was very clean however there was a mixup and the beds had dirty sheets and the trash cans were all full. I received an immediate answer from the host concerning the situation. I believe it may be newly listed so things happen. I was happy to figure what what was going on and I am sure it will not happen again. Parking was very close to the house, there was no problem getting our bags and supplies to the house."

"The home is newly renovated with modern farmhouse-type furnishings. It is immaculately clean and tidy and located in an ideal country setting. Everything was very comfortable and well-stocked. We would strongly recommend this property!"

"Get ready to be immersed in history and antiques in this adorable cottage in Mt Gretna! Removed from the modern world, traffic, the city as well as modern conveniences. We love antiques & the wraparound porch, had a little issue with the mildew/mold and had to open all the windows & doors during our stay. Remember to bring your own hair dryer, iron or steamer & charger banks. All bedrooms are located upstairs & don’t have modern electrical outlets & not a lot of lights. Recommend arriving well...

"My husband and I had another wonderful stay on Carol's property in May. We wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else when we are in the area. From the moment of our arrival, we are welcomed by Carol and her delicious scones and fresh eggs from her chickens. We feel relaxed as soon as we open the door. The only disappointment we experienced was having to leave! We can't wait for our next visit!"

"We enjoyed our stay here. The location is perfect for walking to Mount Gretnas adorable businesses. Definitely check out the mini golf; its a very unique course! The off street parking was great, and the size of the house was perfect. I could have sat on the deck people watching all day. Just a note, and maybe we couldnt find it, but there was no AC upstairs. The pictures of the listing were accurate, but the listing failed to mention that the cottage is attached to a residence and sits directly in front of a shop. It was clean but there were areas that needed more attention. There was definitely some temperature swings between day and night, and between the first and second floor. "Such an idyllic setting! We were able to relax in the peace. The home is very sweet and whimsical. I’m glad that my doodle, Fionna, could stay with us. The home is old, I understand, but there are aspects that are not safe for elderly/disabled guests. Be very careful with the tub, stairs, and porch swing. The home was generally clean, but had a few issues that we reported to the realty."
