Great stay for the fanily
Lovely site and the accommodation was clean and tidy on arrival, the hot tub was also ready to use. Pub not far to walk and the kids enjoyed the park and ice cream van that came every evening! Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again in the future.

Sunflower Retreat
My parents had an amazing stay at the property. The location was amazing, the cleanliness was exceptional. The lodge was over and above what was expected. Amazing service from Hemera Holidays and will be rebooking for return visit later in the year.

Sunflower Retreat
Would highly recommend the sunflower retreat. Upon arrival we were greeted with a bottle of wine, cookies and crisps. The whole caravan was immaculate. As a family of four we felt at home and comfortable with the surroundings.

Relaxing
We enjoyed our stay but felt the park itself seemed a bit neglected. The children’s play area looked tired and the tennis court was passed its best. The caravan itself was fine but needed a bit of TLC. Both shower heads kept dropping down and needed tightening. The hot tub was nice but felt a bit exposed on the corner and out of any sun after late morning.

Perfect getaway
We have just got back from our weekend stay at Sunflower retreat. When we arrived we were amazed at how tidy and well presented this caravan was. There was plenty of space for myself, my wife, our two year old son and the dog. The caravan had everything you could possibly need, nice American fridge freezer, dishwasher, washer / dryer (which was ideal with a toddler) hob and built in oven and grill. Both the TV's had built in fire TV so you were able to log in to your fave apps like netflix, prime and Disney. There were also lovely touches like super soft throws by the sofas and the cute ornaments dotted throughout. The beds were so comfortable snd both showers were nice and powerful as well as been lovely and hot. The bathroom in the main bedroom was a bonus so I didn't disturb my son once he was in bed. The perfect finish to this was the hottub which we all loved using. It was well managed and very clean. My son was able to come and go easily as it was right outside as well as the dog having the freedom of relaxing on the balcony. I could go on and on, but I will leave this review by saying it was perfect in every way and we will definitely be booking again. Hemera were brilliant, friendly and very helpful in getting this booked

Lovely location, shame about the cleanliness and maintenance of the property
This caravan is ideally located and on a lovely quiet site. Good links with local areas with plenty to do and see. Unfortunately we arrived to the property to find it in a terrible state. Dog hair, dirt and grime throughout the bathroom and living areas. The hot tub area was also very overgrown with weeds and there was cigarette butts. Bed pillows were stained with hair on. Mattresses also had no mattress protectors in place. The general upkeep and maintenance of this property was poor and not as we were expecting from the listing and past reviews. Martin was contacted and a superficial clean/tidy up was done very promptly on the same day of arrival, however we felt it still required a deep clean. There was still ‘clean me’ written in the dirt on the window in the bathroom that was left by previous occupants. Wendy at Hemera has been lovely in assisting us and everything went smoothly in regards to her aspect of the booking/correspondence. We would not stay again and would hope our feedback to the property management and owner means there will be improvements made in regards to the cleanliness and maintenance of the property for future guests.

Not so sunny Sunflower
Whole living space felt cramped. Effort made to provide everything but dining arrangements in particular were too much for the space. Also very disappointing to arrive on a cold Boxing day to find fire remote not working, no manual instruction sheet and named contact not bothered. Similarly TV remote not working and distorted signal on main set whilst twin room TV ok so we had to huddle in there like naughty children! Took 2 days for Martin to appear because it was a bank holiday - but it was our holiday at nearly £200 per night he was tainting. Has no-one told him he works in hospitality?

This was a last minute booking, and we dropped on, perfect location for everything we wanted to see. The hot tub was a bonus to. Everyone on site were very friendly and the ducks were so sweet. Would definitely recommend and would love to go back in the near future.

Fantastic
Throughly enjoyed my stay here and this lodge in particular, it was a home from home. Everything you needed it had It. Such a warm cosy vibe to it and beds were very comfortable too. I stay in a lot of logges/log cabins every month and can say this has been the best to date simply for its home from home feeling and cleanliness is second to none which I was very impressed giving I had ocd. Overall fantastic stay and accommodation I will definitely be returning! Oh and the tv in the children’s bedroom was a fabulous touch I could enjoy a wine in peace, great!

2nd visit to this accommodation
Sunflower Retreat has all you require to have an enjoyable break. it is on a good plot on the site with an fenced hot tube. hot been the operative word as it was never less than 40 degree C. It has a large American fridge/freezer, microwave and full size gas oven if you wish to cook. The site is quiet with very few onsite facilities ie bar and cafe all though you can walk through the golf course to their bar so its best to bring some supplies with you milk bread etc The accommodation provides a temperamental blue tooth speaker system which when paired to a phone is very good. The large TV provides all the normal channels and as a bonus Netflix . The only negative I would say was that there was evidence of dogs within the main living room, hairs and a wet dog smell

Absolutely amazing!!!
We booked this stay back in March view the view to exploring the beautiful Northumberland coastline. This place did not disappoint. The fridge freezer enabled us to cook in the lodge most of the week. It was a great base to travel to all places easily. You do need to plan before returning to site if you need essentials like beer and wine or even bread and milk as there is no shop near the site. It didn’t cause a problem for us because Alnwick has Aldi and Sainsbury’s and many other food shops. Failing that head on down to the Bari Bar! Absolutely fantastic food trucks which turn up on Fridays and Saturdays, staff are brilliant. It’s not the most attractive bar but very friendly and welcoming. live music on Saturdays if that’s your thing. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners of our lodge before we left at 10am. Very lovely couple, it was an honour to spend a week in there home. We would definitely stay there again.

A well equipped modern lodge that provides a great base to explore the rest of Northumberland.
We stayed Monday - Friday and the lodge was perfect for what we needed. Modern & well equipped and the addition of the hot tub was great! A little disappointing there wasn’t more on the actual site, but Alnwick is only a few minutes in the car and was a lovely town for shops, places to eat and of course the castle. We’d definitely stay again and I’d recommend it to others.
