Beautiful lodge, spacious and very comfortable, high
standard.
However, very basic, one tea towel, one toilet roll, no
cloths or cleaner for kitchen/bathroom tops. No hooks on doors in bathroom or bedroom. Airer supplied was very small and inadequate for drying smalls.
Very helpful staff member offered to supply us with our needs but only one day left so didn’t take this further.

Did the job
This place looks like the pictures, which is good. Was comfy and well equipped for sleeping / eating which is all you need for a base when exploring. A couple of things could have been improved, they only leave half a toilet roll in so you need to go out and buy your own. I’ve never stayed anywhere where you have to bring your own loo roll before! There’s also no mat or grips in the bath, so having a shower is very slippy. It looked fairly clean but there were a number of dead flies and insects around (on windowsills, the shelf in front of the telly etc) and a random piece of underwear left behind from another guest which made me wonder how thoroughly it really had been cleaned. The advertised free wifi didn’t really work, maybe a couple of minutes slow speed a couple of times a day at best. Just a word of warning if you need wifi to work. The points above didn’t break the holiday, it was quiet and did the job for a few days.

Lovely Break
It was a lovely break the accommodation lovely but the lack of signal and no wifi which was advertised did let it down slightly.

Really loverly lodge, but no wifi
The lodge was loverly, in a great location with nice views. Really well presented. However there was no wifi for the entire time that we were there, and this was obviously a common problem on the site.
nice and clean very peaceful property was clean and had everything you would need to cater for yourself water pressure was good with nice hot water basic tv only but thats not an issue for me the only negative is the wi fi was not connecting the signal was just not there after having a chat with one of the staff I'm lead to believe that new wi fi masts are due to go in soon hopefully .
over all i would have no hesitation in recommending these superior lodges
Great location, and site well maintained. Quiet (in the main). Easy walk to village.
Lodge was well maintained and clean - although internal doors would have benefitted from a duster!
No WI-FI - not really acceptable with todays technology available. In its absence, an information folder about things to do and places to eat in the area would have been helpful - alas, there was nothing. Some information on how the cooker worked would have been an asset (e.g. cooking times with difference in oven temps for cooking on propane)
Contractors were on site whilst we stayed there - still using electric saws and radio turned up loud until 7pm in the evening. Disappointing, for an otherwise excellent stay.
All of this was reported to reception upon our departure, who advised that it would noted and passed upward.
Staff were friendly, polite and helpful where they could be. We shall return (hopefully contractors will have completed their tasks by then!)

Fantastic lodge in a beautiful setting
The Superior Lodge was beautiful with everything required for a comfortable stay. All necessary items were there waiting for us, towels, soap, washing up liquid, tea & coffee etc. which aren’t usually provided on a self catering holiday. All in all a wonderful place.
Beautiful location and site. Very peaceful and the Superior Lodge had everything that we needed. Very helpful staff if and when needed.

Covid safe stay
We were a little nervous about staying away during these Covid times, but we forgot all about that once we arrived. The place was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. It was peaceful and distanced from other people. This was a very convenient location to be to travel to the places we wanted to visit. There were places to eat nearby where we could sit outside (the weather was perfect!!) and I would very much recommend the Three Wheat Heads at Thropton 2 miles down the road for good food.
