"The gate to the property is hidden from the main road. It's opposite an industrial park. The private drive to the property is a dirt track and will take 10 minutes. It is only suitable for 4 x 4 cars and confident drivers. However, you can see plenty of rabbits and the odd owl along the way. The villa is looked after by a lovely couple, with a son who can talk a bit of English. They don't. They are on site and will help you navigate the use of the villa. "We stayed in the Casita de madera for two months from January to March, i.e. during some of the coldest months of the year. The open fireplace contributes a lot to the cosiness factor but as a heating mechanism is not that efficient, so very glad there was also an electric radiator, which in the coldest weeks was struggling to keep us warm. But it is a very cozy house with everything you need, except an oven. It is dark, especially this time of the year, where the sun does not catch it at all...

There is no oven only electric hob, the light on the swimming pool needed fixing which Jose probably did when requested, also the TV was having some antena issues and the image would come and go even after Antonio tried to fix it . Unfortunately there is a really loud noise from a busy road just behind the house, that was a bit upsetting as we wanted some peace and quiet. "We expected the property to be a lot bigger and with much more light/windows as per the photo on the VRBO website. As it turned out, this was a much smaller, dark and rustic house. It is a typical old Spanish townhouse in a small village in a beautiful location. It is not a luxury place in any way. Everything is very old and dusty. "The biggest disappointment was interaction with the host. We never met him/her and all communication was via phone call or watts app. Arrival was confusing as we did not know it involved a key safe. There was no information pack. Whilst the accommodation was spotlessly clean a number of things could’ve been better.
