Getting to our cabin, the last 2.4 miles is a gravel road that winds through national forest. It is scenic and adds to the feeling of being secluded. It is maintained and does not require 4 wheel drive however cars with little ground clearance will need to take it a bit slower. Sometimes after hard rains there are some ruts in the road but nothing treacherous. There is a u-shaped, level gravel driveway and space to the right of the cabin for 2-3 vehicles.

Boat Ramp Access: the closest access is to walk out your front door and take a left. Turn right on the first gravel road (Timmy Circle) and head towards the lake. NOTE (access is not a concrete ramp but a gentle slope covered with stones and rock.) The boat access located at the cabin is better suited for smaller boats like john boats etc. There are a number of other options. Boat ramps are available at Morganton Point Recreation Area in Morganton. Other boat ramps are located at Lakewood Landing on Old Highway 76, Morganton, and Lake Blue Ridge Recreation Area, Aska Road. We recommend using Lakewood Landing Boat Launch located on the north side of the Lake or Morganton Point Recreation Area on the east side. Morganton Point is the least distance from our cabin. Most of our guests who bring a boat put in at one of these points and then moar it near the path out the back left of the cabin down at the water.
Walking lake access from the cabin: The cabin is about 70 paces from Lake Blue Ridge. There is a walking path out the back door of the cabin, walk to the left and down a knoll to wooden steps into the lake. The kayaks can be carried down to the lake and then brought back to the cabin for storage.

This cabin is tucked away in a nice quiet area, with quick access to the lake, and a lovely firepit. Really relaxing and beautiful natural environment.
We enjoy our stay. We needed a quick little weekend getaway to the mountains wit the family playing games, cooking, and relaxing in the hot tub. Everything was nice!
It was a small but nice cabin. Great outdoor space, comfy beds and little extra touches that’s made our trip easier. Great dock, screened in porch, and kayaks. The owners quickly responded to our questions. Fun place to stay!
We had a fabulous time at the cabin. Having lake access was key and the hot tub was a nice touch after a long day of swimming. Would definitely rent again!
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The location is great with easy lake access down a very short trail. The cabin had everything we needed for a weekend. We had a great time using the kayaks on the lake, grilling steaks out back and relaxing!
Property was more then we could ask for as a small family of 3. Clean and organized the moment you walk in. Property was described perfectly, we will be making another visit! Thank you for the great experience
Perfect mountain cabin for me and my husband! Nicely made and nicely decorated! It was even decorated for the holiday season!!! Hot tub was great and already hot when we arrived! Cabin is off the beaten path, which is what my husband and I were looking for! Short drive to Blue Ridge, McCaysville, and Blairsville.
The cabin was so cute and had everything we needed. It was immaculately clean and we felt very comfortable here. We spent most of our time on the water, which was a short walk from the cabin, fishing and kayaking. We also enjoyed the fire-pit, hot tub and grills. Owners were quick to respond with any questions. It was a perfect week at On Lake Time cabin.
Wonderful cabin tucked away in the woods. We loved the lake, so clean! It was a hike down to access so my older mother could not come to enjoy the dock time but kids did fine. It is in a remote location with a winding drive but neighbors around and we felt very safe. The owners were very responsive with our questions. The hot tub was a must every evening! I’m sure summer time at the cabin is great.
This was a very relaxing small vacation house, directly adjacent to National Forest, with a private dock in a calm cove. The house is simple but cozy. The two included kayaks were a great addition as well as the fire pit and the hot tub. We were there in late July and the weather and the lake temperature were perfect. Only thing I would note is that there isn’t a ladder on the dock, so you have to get out on of the water via the shore, so pack some water shoes.
We had a great time at the Lake House. Quiet, clean and overall great mountain experience. Caveat, the listing should state that you need a 4x4 vehicle to get there in snow/ice weather. It was a difficult time reaching the property the first few days due to the weather. Many cars couldn’t make it up the mountain including ours.
The property was nice and clean. It's in a quiet area. The kayaks were great fun. We paddled around, fished, and swam.
The walk to the water was a little longer than expected and the bottom is a bit tricky. Pulling the kayaks back up from the water each time was a hassle, but we understood why it had to be done. Also, there are 2 1-person kayaks.
The little restaurant up the road, THE COVE, had the best food. We also ate at the marina, it was good to. We went to Mercier Orchard and the swinging bridge, each about a 30 minute drive.
Overall we had a great time and woukd recommended.
The cabin and lake were nothing short of serene this time of year. The cabin was homey and cozy and quite comfortable and we would definitely rent again if the occasion arises. My only complaint is that the pots, pans, & glasses all had to be washed before I could use them and the whole cabin needed a good dusting.
I loved this cabin, it will definitely be on my list of repeat locations. I have no complaints, the only suggestion I would make is for there to be a safer way to get the kayak’s down to the lake. It was difficult for me, a 46 yr old woman with a teenage daughter, to navigate the make shift stairs with no railing or anything to grab a hold to while carrying a kayak. The views once on the lake however were beautiful. I loved the outdoor space. The firepit, hot tub and hammock were used often. It was very peaceful, can’t wait to visit again.
My family and I enjoyed a long wknd in blue ridge. The road to get to the cabin is one lane but it is worth it for the lake views. The cabin was perfect for our family.
Clean place with everything you need. A/C and WiFi were perfect. Washer/dryer were a bonus. No complaints. The lake was right down a little trail from backyard. It is alittle steep, but easy enough for us to carry 3 paddle boards down. The lake was amazing! We loved every bit of it. We paddleboarded 5 of our 6 days there and did the Blue Ridge scenic train ride on the rainy day. We enjoyed it. Would definitely stay here again. Owners are quick responders to questions.
