Family reunion stay at Norman Chapel
Excellent place. Very clean and comfortable, quaint and pretty. Fully stocked kitchen. Loved the little library and games and books that provided us with entertainment.

Nice retreat
Large , spacious with all the commodities , great garden , very well equipped and comfortable cottage full of history . Things to improve could be a little cleaner , the place was full of spiders and spider webs , the sofa and seats in the living room are a little tired . But overall a really nice comfy and spacious cottage in a very quite and lovely location- perfect for a family / group retreat.

It was a stunning property, even nicer in real life than the photos. Very spacious and great walks right on your doorstep.

It was a lovely cottage! We really enjoyed this great location, too!
We have only two small wishes: A better coffee-machine - perhaps a filter one? Parking: Perhaps more gravel outside on the street?

Fantastic home with lots of character and quaint charm
Excellent property considering its age. A cosy and super warm feel throughout. A great location so quiet and yet easy access to other villages. A pheasant regularly in the garden and a cuckoo could be heard! The kitchen was a great size with all amenities and a useful boot and coat section which was handy for our dog. We had a lovely stay Thankyou.

Lovely stay at Norman Chapel
We loved our stay at Norman Chapel. The cottage is quirky, comfortable and surprisingly spacious. The only reason why we did not spend more time in the fantastic garden with its large patio was the weather… We enjoyed the peaceful and quiet setting of the cottage which is in easy reach of many attractions nearby. We would definitely recommend a stay at Norman Chapel!

Property could do with a thorough clean and a programme of repairs and maintenance. Great location. Huge potential.

good location but poor in cleanliness
The house was big and location very quiet. Wonderful garden. The real problem was the lack of clearnliness. The furniture and all rooms were lacking a deep clean. Moreover, I removed 35 spiders during my stay. Some of them quite big, some of them in beds or sofas. I understand it's an old country house but the cleaning process should take into consideration removing all the spiders every week.

Lovely stay in a beautiful location
Lovely garden area, ideal for dogs & children to play in. Kitchen & utility very well stocked with every item and gadget you could possibly need. Milk, orange juice, biscuits and bread there on arrival (thank you - nice touch). Beds were super comfortable. Communication ahead of check in was very comprehensive. A lovely relaxing stay and ideal base to explore the Cotswolds from.

Fabulous family friendly large cottage with great patio and garden
We loved staying in this very old cottage. It was very comfortable and well equipped and in a great location to visit many places in North Cotswold. We had an 18 month old with us and the garden was perfect for him and the dog! There was an issue with the hot water which was resolved exceptionally quickly following our call. There were several interesting pieces of furniture but I will say having two chairs which were too fragile to sit on, seemed a bit strange, however nice they looked. The dining area was lovely - a nice big table and there is also a nice big table in the garden. A bbq was available which was great. We loved staying in this comfortable, friendly and interesting home and would certainly book again. No pub within walking distance but some nice ones just short car drives away.

Excellent rural paradise!
The location of the cottage is amongst a lovely rural cluster of houses, all very beautiful. The cottage has a lovely garden which can be enjoyed by all, especially young children. We had a problem with the freezer on the day we arrived but after a quick phone call somebody was around in 30 minutes to fix it. The cottage is close to Moreton-in-marsh but also worth a visit is Bourton on the water. Would definitely recommend the cottage which is great value for money and very comfortable.

Lovely house
Lovely stay in Norman Chapel. Beautiful house. Very clean. Nice welcome pack that we didn’t realise we would get. Really could do with wardrobes, in 2 of the bedrooms, not everything wants to be folded. Some of the blinds are tired. One in main bedroom there was a problem with, goes all the way up or all the way down, no in between. Beds very comfortable. Had a problem with heating but that was resolved quickly. Would recommend.

Quintessential Cotswold cottage in quiet village
Beautiful location, convenient for many other Cotswold centres. Very characterful cottage, with cosy sitting room and log burner, and comfortable beds. Property manager helpfully brought us some coffee pods for the new machine, basic food supplies and a pretty Christmas tree. Kitchen very well equipped. Things that could be improved: firelighters and matches for fire, instructions for TV (also very glitchy), one bedroom door hinge was broken so the door had to stay open, and no bulb in a bedside light. All minor things, outweighed by the positives .

Not as advertised
Overall sloppy; some broken furniture’s inside an outside, dirty BBQ, alarms have run out batteries. After the stay complaint was ignored as it was after the stay but you do not wan to order and wait somebody to arrive to work and bother your holiday if you stay only few nights.

Lovely weekend but house let down by the parking
The house is excellent and in a great location for visiting the local villages. We booked for a family weekend away and there was plenty of space. The house is nicely furnished and comfortable. MyClean team were helpful and lovely to deal with. The only downside is the parking. We parked in error next to the house and ended up with the neighbours aggressively banging on the front and side door at 8:30pm demanding we move our two cars. This was obviously not pleasant and also woke up our small baby. We would not stay again for this reason which is a shame because we loved the house and location.

Our thoughts
Almost everything worked however we do have some suggestions: 1. The shower needs grab bars and a rubber mat to prevent slipping. Also a shelf or something to hold the shampoo and soap. The tap in the shower drips. 2. The two coffee machines were useless without instructions. 3. The TV also needs an instruction manual. 4. There was something in the house booklet that talked about keys. All the keys were in the doors when we arrived and so we left them there. 5. We would have like salt and pepper in the grinders. Both were empty. 6. Instruction manual on the stove top would have been helpful. I eventually got it to work.

A sibling reunion
The Norman Chapel was a perfect location for my husband’s siblings to get together. It is a beautiful property, attractively furnished and well equipped and the garden is perfect for a well-bahved dog with a lovely table and chairs. We’d thoroughly recommend the Norman Chapel. However, 5pm (we couldn’t get in until 5.40 pm because the previous guests had left such a mess) is too late in the day after a long journey. Most properties have 3pm check-in. We were very disconcerted to discover the bath and shower room do not have locks. A simple bolt at high level would have made our stay much more relaxing. Alarmingly, an attractive painting is just balanced on the living room mantel - we thought dangerous for small children. And the pillows are wafer thin and very uncomfortable and we were giving two hand-towels (unnecessary as there were ones by both handbasins) and only one bath towel between two. For the above reasons I have marked it down on “comfort”.

Norman Chapel Aston Magna
Pros The location is perfect. The cottage is on a very quiet, tranquil and pretty country lane with very little passing traffic. The garden is very private and a good size with a view of the local church to the rear of the property. Moreton on the Marsh village is only 5 minutes drive away which has lovely shops and restaurants - recommend the White Hart. There are nearby villages with some very good cafes / restaurants. Can highly recommend Blockley Cafe. Cons Whilst the property has a driveway it is only for unloading/loading?? Not sure why the driveway cannot be used to park on. This means that guests park their vehicles on the country lane adjacent to the property which is very quiet. Lounge and main bedroom furniture could do with updating, very shabby chic. Some sockets behind the tv in the lounge did not work and the problem had been solved by the owners with the use of 2 extension leads trailing across the floor in to the study area. TV too small Patio area is very nice but there was a paving stone missing along the edge. We would recommend this property to others as a quirky, quaint and quintessential Cotswolds cottage which would benefit from updating some of the furniture to make it less shabby and more chic.
