Peaceful Vadito Family Home Near Taos Valley!
4/5 Good
Isolated
"Before you read this.... it sounds negative, but we had a fantastic trip. It is approximately 20 minutes from Sipapu. It is isolated. We did find the family dollar store (about 3.5 miles) and bought water for the slopes and drinking at the house. We didn't have a problem with drinking the tap water, just prefer bottled water.Kitchen is very open. We took all of the supper meals prepared, ready to heat up and glad we did. The kitchen has 10 forks. For a house that is able to sleep 11 (easily) we found the kitchen was in need of more supplies. The pots/pans were all flaking teflon. If you are planning on preparing your own meals (since you are in Vadito and nowhere to get food) you might have difficulty using their bowls/cookware. The kitchen had NO glass bowls to bake or use in a microwave. No large cake pan for casseroles or cakes. The kitchen also had 1 pitcher. We prefer 2.The heater is LOUD. Had a clicking noise and right next to the living room/bedrooms. First night we stayed the heater automatically went to 55 degrees at night. Downstairs people were cold. Sandra helped us with that and all was well night 2-4. The guest bathroom tubs' cold water would only stream lightly when turned on so the water was scalding. Filled with water from the kitchen to get enough water for a bath. Game room was a great room for adults and kids. Loved the pool table. Could put a blow up mattress up there also if needed.I would love to talk to the owner! (email)?"
