"We stayed in three different bungalows. Our favorite was the beach view just west of the overwater rooms. You're steps from the beach and that glorious water but away from minimal crowds. Our least favorite was the ocean view to the east of the overwaters. The overwater bungalows are directly in front of you and the water. There's no beach to speak of here and the water is almost too shallow to swim in. Staff overall was very friendly and helpful. The main attraction for the Sofitel is the water. Amazing snorkeling, incredible wildlife, and never too busy. "

"The hotel has bungalows and the restaurant is on the water. It is located directly on the beach in a very nice bay. The restaurant is very good but breakfast is too expensive for the food offered. You need a car to reach it from the airport or the harbor, and to move around the island. No public transportation and taxis are quite expensive."

"Moorea sunset beach exceeded our expectations! It was such a beautiful spot to stay, the accommodations were clean, comfortable and right on the beach. The lagoons were beautiful and a wonderful spot for swimming, snorkelling and watching sunsets. The kayak rentals were right beside on the beach and it was a short trip to the small islands nearby. The pier was also fun to walk along and see the tropical fish swimming below. Overall, the best spot to stay for beach access, swimming, snorkeling and beauty. "

"Everything was great, especially the staff. They helped us make dinner reservations, and recommendations on places to visit on the island. Everything was clean and comfortable. Our favorite part was being able to snorkel off of the dock. We saw hundreds of kinds of fish and coral."

"Positives: - spacious bedrooms - spacious kitchen for guest use - parking onsite - deck to sit out on Negatives: - very difficult to find. Need signage out front - photos of room during booking process a bit deceptive. Shows bathroom, leading one to think you room has a private one. It doesnt. - host not responsive pre-stay via Expedia; must WA him - host not engaging - host was to have lent me a bike so I could cycle back the 16km rom returning my rental car. I told him what time I needed to leave by, and asked if he could help load the bike into the car. Well he was a ''no-show' and instead was out shopping. Not reliable. At least he apologized. - there is no swimming beach at this location - nowhere comfortable outside to sit and enjoy the view. Only a picnic bench, which gets wets when raining - no amenities in area - description states kayaks and bikes available for loan, though he seemed a bit reluctant. Summary: okay stay, nice facilities. But I felt more like an inconvenience being there more thana valued guest. I think this really is more suited to surfers, not solo female travellers who may need a bit of guidance. "
