"Although it’s unassuming when you arrive the back of the property is beautiful, with a terrace, pool and riverbank. Great start, great dinner and breakfast, spotlessly clean room. We enjoyed our stay and would have liked to stay longer."

"Our third year back at Chateau Jautrudon and the week seemed to fly by again. So much to do on site (tennis, swimming, golf, walks in the woods, games inside) and a few trips out (canoeing in Le Blanc, VeloRail at Chauvigny). Nice to see a few improvements in the kitchen plus the addition of a swing and basketball hoop."

"We have just spent a wonderful fourteen days staying in this impressive place. It was clean, very well equipped and fit for purpose. The courtyard with covered dining area and “plancha grill” for outdoor cooking were a great bonus. An impressive garden and plunge pool was also most appreciated. The host, Jo, was available personally or by phone to answer any questions. Her advice and guidance on local events and places to visit was invaluable. We look forward to returning soon. Ian."

"The property is set in a lovely hamlet where you can leave the doors and windows open all night with no worries. Both pools are excellent and regularly maintained by the host. There is everything you need provided in the well appointed kitchen. Yann is friendly and on hand to help when/if needed. I would thoroughly recommend if you want a relaxing time."

"Although the property looks a bit dated, once you are inside the hosts look after you so well all is forgotten. Our room was comfortable and looked out over the river. Amazing views. Dinner was excellent and breakfast on the terrace was a joy. Would certainly recommend, especially if you don't mind seeing the occasional cat. Excellent value for money and happily return for another stay."

"What a wonderful experience! First of all, Montmorillon is a charming little gem in the southeastern part of Vienne, and is perfect for an overnight excursion or as a stopping point when traveling across France … and La Bicyclette Bleue is the perfect place to stay. It is located just minutes on foot from the center of Montmorillon and everything you want to see and do is easily accessible. The owners are also just lovely people, who know how to make you feel welcome and give you your space at the same time. They are kind, informative about Montmorillon, and simply pleasant to sit and speak with, with their characteristic English charm. They have transformed their home in a lovely chambre d’hôtes. The guest quarters (and I have to say quarters here) occupy the entire second floor of the front section of the home, and include a spacious bedroom and a comfortable, modern bathroom complete with a shower and bathtub, both on your own private landing at the top of the stairs. Everything is so well-appointed too. From quality linens and towels to decoration, all the little touches really make the place special. There’s a beautiful, manicured back garden, which is the perfect spot for a glass of wine on arrival, and the continental breakfast is copious and delicious. You might even be asked your preference of viennoiseries the night before in preparation. Two thumbs up for La Bicyclette Bleue! "
