"Very traditional Tuscan property, lovely neighbourhood, next door neighbour nice,friendly and helpful coffee shop. Home restaurant lovely and a great experience, roads are a bit windy and narrow in places, car is essential to visit Places. Church bells take a bit of getting used to."

"Had a wonderful stay at the villa in Castiglione di Garfagnana. The villa is spacious, very clean, relaxing, and has quite a few activities to do on the property. The views overlooking the property were fantastic and the pool was great. There's also a few small football goals, darts, bocce, volleyball, and more. Communication with the owner was very good as well whenever we needed him and definitely recommend going to Il Pozzo for dinner in town one night. We couldn't walk into town...

"We loved our stay at the villa. There was plenty of room and the kids loved the pool. The hosts were helpful. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area and the cities of Lucca, Pisa and Florence are outstanding. The nearer towns of Barga and Castelnuovo are also very attractive. The area has recently been a center of attention on BBC with Amanda Holden, Rob Rinder and Clive Myrie. However, if you don't like heights and hairpin bends up a mountainside, this might not be the villa for you."

"It's a long drive up winding hills, but once you arrive in Sassi, you can forget about all your worries, sit back and relax. The main farmhouse and the cottage are both well-equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The pool was a godsend on especially hot days, especially for the children, who spent hours playing Marco Polo and other water games well into the evening. Our host was extremely helpful and was a walking encyclopedia of information about the surrounding areas, too....

"The property was clean and well equipped the pool was large and very clean. Communication was excellent throughout our stay. Weather was against us as the area is quite mountainous and therefore subject o fluctuations. Car is essential. Small town nearby has everything required. Restaurant within walking distance down a steep winding road but unfortunately was closed for the majority of our stay. "

"We were a large family group of adults and children. The property was exactly as described and suited our needs perfectly eg each family had own sleeping and living area. The setting was absolutely stunning and the swimming pool a highlight and where we spent most of our days. Check in and contact with the owner was seamless and anything we needed was acted upon immediately. We felt we had isolation in a stunning setting but not isolated as there were other properties, restaurants and shops...

"The house was very clean, comfortable and spacious and we never tired of the superlative views across the valley. Diego and his dad are lovely and always available when needed. If I was to suggest an improvement, it would be a little more kitchen equipment - there was no sharp knife for cooking, no collander, few wine glasses and an oven tray that didn’t fit the oven. A small point that did not detract from a great week in a stand out property. Highly recommended!"

"The property for our needs was a little too isolated, a car is a necessity and you need to Make sure you have all groceries etc with you to avoid the dive down the very steep mountain . The accommodation is very rustic and unfortunately extremely hot making sleeping very uncomfortable, no fans or air conditioning. Keeping the windows open was not an option as there were so many hornets about at the time of our visit . However the beautiful outdoor pool and Garden area are amazing and my grandson...
