We stayed at the Wyndham Montecristi this past weekend, and it was a very pleasant experience. We arrived late in the evening, and the check-in process was quick and smooth. To our surprise, the chef himself offered to help with our bags, as he happened to be at the front desk during check-in. While this gesture was unexpected, it gave the impression the hotel might be understaffed. That said, their "all hands on deck" approach ensured no service was compromised.
After settling in, my 6-year-old and I came down for a bite to eat. The staff was incredibly accommodating, especially considering my daughter’s picky eating habits.
The next day, my wife wasn’t feeling well due to a stomach bug going around in the Dominican Republic. The chef went above and beyond by offering to prepare her tea and soup. He brought her a "cream of squash" soup, which soothed her stomach. His empathy and attentiveness stood out, as he repeatedly checked in to ensure we were comfortable.
The only downside was the pool water—it was freezing, which was a bit disappointing since the rest of the facilities were very nice. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The breakfast was decent, though we would have loved more traditional options like mangu.
Overall, the exceptional service made our stay memorable. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
