Situated on the Monarch River, this beautiful, cozy and family oriented home is a short 5 minute drive to Monarch Mountain. It's the perfect "escape" no matter what time of year! The ski slopes, restaurants, shopping, hiking trails, and all of the amenities that the Salida and Garfield area have to offer are so easily accessible. Come relax and enjoy this home after an active day skiing or hiking the mountains - sitting by the river and enjoying the sights and sounds.

DURING WINTER MONTHS, IT IS REQUIRED THAT YOU HAVE A FOUR WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE, SNOW TIRES OR CHAINS!

The home offers:

~ 2 bathrooms, one with clawfoot tub, upstairs with tub and shower
~ a master bedroom with a king size bed and its own private deck looking down at a beautiful and tranquil creek

~ a third bedroom with a full size bed
~ an open loft overlooking the living area
~ the all-natural snow at Monarch Mountain ski area is only 5 minutes away
~ historic downtown Salida is a beautiful 20 minute drive from this home
~ lots of windows, mirrors, light, and mountain decor make it a warm, wonderful vacation home

All Pinon homes are "vacation ready" with a fully appointed kitchen, towels and linens. Hand, dish and shower soaps are provided, as well as toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels, salt and pepper, coffee filters and laundry soap.

Pinon Vacation Rentals provides guest support from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 pm.

All guests are responsible for reading Welcome Book “Check-In and Check-Out instructions.

~Acceptance of the terms of the Rental Agreement and all Rental Policies is ASSUMED at the time of reservation. 24 to 48 hours before arrival, check-in instructions will be sent to guest.

**This home is rented for personal vacation use only. Any other use including large gatherings or parties is not allowed. Renters must abide by all rental terms and policies, as well as all local applicable property covenants, restrictions, regulations and laws. Any evidence of smoking, use of firearms, driving ATV's other than in the driveway as access only, unapproved pets, unauthorized use of property grounds, damage resulting from violation of rental policies, and/or excessive mess may result in charges up to $3000.00 to the Guest's credit card on file, as authorized by Guest's approval of the terms of the Rental Agreement.

Reservations may be canceled more than 30 days prior to check-in with full refund. 14 to 29 days prior to arrival 50% refund. No refunds will be issued after this cut-off date for any reason. No refunds will be issued due to weather conditions, spotty internet service or interruption of service.

What a great mountain cabin located close to many great trails. Pop into Salida or Buena Vista for a great meal.

Winter Wonderland
We came to this home a week before Thanksgiving and we got to live our winter wonderland dreams. Just enough snow that the kids were able to sled and build snowmen the whole trip, but not enough snow to keep us snowed it. Not too far from town, but very peaceful.This home is a place we want to come back and see during Spring/Summer.

August Mountain Vacation
We loved this cabin in the woods. There’s so many places to explore at this location. There’s plenty of room for family and everyone to have their own space. We loved how remote it felt, the cabin had everything we needed.

The cabin was perfect for our needs. The property managers where attentive and helpful. Close to Monarch (4 minutes). Not too far off the main road but must have 4wd in winter as stated in info. Great experience.

Great cabin with 2 beautiful creeks
This was a perfect cabin to stay at for a great get away from reality! The creeks were amazing to listen to as we sat on the porch and enjoyed the fresh mountain air. It is close enough to town if you need anything but cabin is away from it all. Just the vacation my family needed.

We were two families of four and this cabin worked well for us. The creek behind the cabin immediately makes you destress upon arrival. A little hard to find at night, so make sure to follow the directions provided. We will absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful cabin in the woods
We loved our stay here. Super convenient location to the Hwy, but you’d never know you’re close. Definitely feel tucked away while still having walkable roads and little trails to explore. The river is just off the porch but down a steep embankment. Beautiful for looking and listening, but not for playing or fishing. We explored Monarch pass (gondolas were so fun!), Almont/Taylor Park Res for fly fishing, and Salida and BV for shops and restaurants. The cabin was clean, well stocked, beds were comfy, and TONS of great DVDs to choose from if you need some downtime. The area was quiet, safe, well-maintained, and we’d gladly come back!

We had an amazing trip Whiskey’d monarch two days ski Cooper and also rented timber sleds went out to Cottonwood Pass. It was amazing come back for sure. Thank you.

Whole family loved the cabin
Our visit to Colorado was made memorable with the stay at your beautiful cabin. Everyone enjoyed the stay and facilities. I have no complains. If I have to do some nit picking, the directions to cabin was hard to follow after sundown. We still made it without wandering.

Great cabin. Great area.
We enjoy going to this part of the state particularly more secluded areas but close enough to towns for access to groceries. This place was perfect. Had everything we needed. Could fit up to 10 people at least but we had a smaller group so more than enough room. Right by the river although the river was tough to access from where we were. No biggie. Overall great place. Look forward to coming back if it's available.

Everything was clean and tidy and exactly as pictured. However it was difficult to get there and the directions were not great. We ended up getting stuck twice and had to ask a neighbor for directions.

Good little spot
The house was great and clean. My only complaints were that in the listing it looks as though there’s a creek close that kids can play in, which is why we chose it, but it’s definitely a rushing river. Not safe for kids to be around. Also, I thought the check out process was a bit tedious. Having to do all dishes and start the washer seems silly since we pay a cleaning fee. Other than that very comfy, clean, and convenient to BV and Salida.

Bigger than it looks in the photos! Plenty of space for groups, parking is somewhat limited but you can fit 3 vehicles without issue, more if you don’t mind blocking some in. Our only negative comment is that there was dog hair all over the floor, and a dog water bowl and baggies for picking up dog poop were in plain sight. We found this disappointing because the property is listed as not allowing pets.

The cabin was well equipped, but the only thing was that we lost power on Thanksgiving night. No light or water for the remaining of the night (this happen around 8) no phone service. Unknown if this is a common thing for the area but for us it was super scary. After that mishap, we had a blast. Wish they could be some other type to connect with the outside world in such an event.

Nice mountain house, but…
This house was very nice and cozy. Getting there was easy until we actually got to the neighborhood. We had to drive around the area to find the street. The GPS stopped giving directions once we got to the general area. So heads up. Also, to lock the door you have to enter the code and then turn the dead bolt, another heads up. No dish washcloths were available so we had to buy some from the local grocery store. The upstairs bathroom shower curtain liner was dirty with mildew. You can smell it right away. The cleaning service needs to use bleach to clean that shower. Last but not least, the upstairs back bedroom had a creepy feeling to it, bad energy if you will, so nobody slept in it. Other than those little inconvenience, beautiful property, very quiet, beds were comfortable, and house was clean.
