"This hotel is in a small, quiet village well off the beaten path, which is just what we wanted. But we arrived after dark and there was nobody at the reception desk. We tried to call the number, but our cell phones did not work properly. Outside the door, some people were smoking and somehow understood we could not check in. They were so friendly and helpful! They explained that there is a restaurant behind the hotel, and they would go find somebody. A young lady came and checked us in. Then we ran into Bruno, the proprietor. He showed us to our room and explained to us about using the blind to keep out the friendly local cat, while letting in the cooler air with the window. In a small village every place closes early, so we were concerned where we might get dinner. Bruno had the answer! He also owned the restaurant behind the hotel. He took us over there and cooked up some of the very best bratwurst, which was made by his son. This place has been in the family for five generations and they take great pride in it. The patrons of the restaurant were friendly as well. The room was modern and very clean. We wandered around the streets a bit by the church and a fountain. We could hear cows in the distance. Very pleasant experience!"

"Hotel locked on arrival. No advance warning that reception was not staffed. Supposed to open at 3 so went back then. No one turned up. Called a number stuck on the door and eventually got instructions on how to enter via the back door using a key pad number. Pity nobody thought to email that in advance. All in all, a total shambles. A place to avoid."
