Very disappointing, initial greeting was certainly not welcoming ,just a waving gesture as to where the reception area was when asked. We had drinks in the bar which were reasonably priced. We requested a menu as we had decided to stay for dinner, we were advised that they were fully booked. As we were sat very close to the dining area ( and being in the hospitality business) we could not see why an extra table could not have been set up or even an offer made to eat in the bar where we were already seated. However, if they don't need the revenue so be it. On retiring I found "pubic hair" and a dead insect on my pillow, when I went back down to reception to advise the lady owner /manager she enquired " what would you like me to do"!!!! I requested it to be changed, this was actioned immediately by the gentleman owner/ manager who in my opinion is far more suited to the hospitality industry than the lady who came across as condescending and as if she was "doing the paying guest a favour". The standard of cleaning need improvement, Bathroom window sill was very dusty, carpet on stairs leading to the bedrooms needed vaccuming, fire extinguishers needed dusting. The mattress in the room we stayed needs replacing as the springs had started to rise to the top and so was most uncomfortable and to which I had felt the effects of the next day.
