"I chose this hotel for its location next to a ski resort and I liked the look of the tatami rooms. This hotel is very cheap and you get what you pay for. The room was small and old, the futon mattresses you use to make your bed were thin and I woke up achy every day. The staff were helpful and friendly with limited English. "Location is perfect. Just a few minutes walk from the station and chair lift. Kitchen staff is very thoughtful. I stayed for 3 nights, although all 3 nights were hot pot for dinner with the same ingredients, the soup base was different for every night. Staff are super friendly, making you feel welcome. The only issue I had was on the first night when there kids staying and they ran around the whole lodge making all sort of noise until late."

"The place was really great even for the children, 4 and 6 years old. The people helped to organise our days activities with suggestions and helped with booking drives and so on. The children loved their stay there, the hot bath and the playroom, the garden and the snow."

"This is an exceptional ryokan. Only three rooms but very large rooms with a sunroom with "western style" chairs for those of us who aren't as limber as we used to be. "Saw some very negative reviews of this joint and wanted to make sure they had a fair review. We reserved through Hotels.com and 6900 yen included dinner and breakfast. Hotels.com advertised a 6 person room but the room was for really for 4 and was ...cozy. Location is very convenient next to Ishiuchi Maruyama Ski resort...which is NOT at all recommended for boarders and Snow scoots or bikes are banned altogether. "The hotel is located in a very beautiful area. It is an excellent place for those who enjoy snow sports. The only point that I was concerned about was the fact that at the time of checking out I was charged with hidden fees that were not made clear at the time of booking. Other than that, it is a very nice place. The staff is very courteous."

"長岡大花火大会の際に夫婦で利用しました。長岡駅からは新幹線で一駅の浦佐駅から徒歩3分ほどの立地で便利です。また、浦佐駅前にはコンビニもあり助かりました。ホテルの施設は古い為、ウォシュレットは付いてなく、また冷蔵庫も小さい為、たくさんの食料品はは入りません。冷凍庫はないので不便な点もあります。シャンプーがリンスインのタイプですが日本人の髪質には合わなくて、髪の毛がクシ通りが悪かなるので、コンディショナーを持参することをおすすめします。エアコンの効き具合は良かったです。フロントスタッフの方は優しい対応してくれました。"
