Kegel's Inn - Studio - Classic Apartment #3
Quaint little studio with lots of old-world character. This one-room studio has original hardwood floors, heavy wood ceiling beams and 1930's tile work in the bathroom. The apartment looks down on 59th street, which for the summer months between May and November, hosts the Kegels Beer Garden on the street! We're one of the last Authentic German restaurants and Inn's left in country and the studio apartment is right above it! We hope you love this place as much as we do!

Quaint adorable apartment above a charming German inn, close to anything you’d want to do in Milwaukee. Hot shower with good water pressure. Great stay, we’d choose again.
Only stayed for one night but it was so cozy and comfortable to stay here! The location is incredibly convenient to find mom and pop shops as well as getting to the city portion quickly. The kegel’s inn provided a restful nights stay and the restaurant below is wonderful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay above the Kegel’s Inn. The building is old, but obviously loved and treasured. Nothing fancy but clean and full of character! We stayed 3 nights, from Sunday until Wed. We were disappointed upon arrival to find that the restaurant downstairs wouldn’t be open until Tuesday, but it was worth the wait! Again charming atmosphere, friendly staff, and FANTASTIC authentic German food. My husband enjoyed the BEST roast duck he has ever had. And we enjoyed giant homemade soft pretzels to go. Beautiful hand painted murals, stained glass windows, warm original woodwork, and a beer garden outside add to the charm of this unique historic restaurant. And the restaurant/bar/beer garden was quiet from 10p-10a so we still had a very peaceful night sleep. Fun place we would highly recommend. Again, the room was not fancy, but was clean, comfortable, old and full of history. Would not be suitable for anyone who can’t climb stairs or has physical challenges. Bathroom is small and not handicap friendly. All in all, Thank you for the great experience!
The listing was exactly as described. Bedding and bed was super comfortable, and being above the inn was a brilliant atmosphere that helps you feel at home.
Walking distance to AmFam Field and only 5-10 minutes to downtown!
Traveled to Milwaukee to visit the Harley Davidson Museum. The location was just 6 miles from the museum and easy to get in and out.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I would stay here again.
We had a good time-everything was as expected. The neighborhood is a little run down, but some nice architecture, and good restaurants. We went to the Blue Egg for brunch, wonderful.
The bed is very comfortable! The studio apartment has a sink, microwave, fridge/freezer, and coffee maker. The lighting is a little dim, but I had a clip on light for my kindle. It is an older building, so the floors are creaky, and there were some minute cracks between some of the planks in the door. I did wipe out the garbage can in the kitchen area, a little odor there, but I didn't think it was a big deal. I would suggest another set of silverware for the kitchenette, but every other basic need is there.
Excellent property. Charming and clean. Great food options at Kegels and neighborhood. Conveniently located.
Only complaint was with the wifi. Basically non-existent. You connect and within minutes disconnected. It would also be helpful to have some sort of instructions on how to navigate through the tv options. Was never able to get any local channels.
Great location to stay and explore Milwaukee. Impressive well kept building. Great food and live entertainment. If you’re looking for a weekend get away and don’t want to pay downtown prices. Kegel’s in is a great option.
We had a great time and this place was perfect! Location was easy to get to and from all the things we did. Also can’t say enough how incredibly comfortable the mattress was. Slept like a baby!! Thank you so much! We will be back..
Perfectly situated in the center of everywhere you want to go. The ball park, state fair grounds, downtown Milwaukee's open market and trendy shopping district. The studio above Kegels inn was charming and very clean with the most comfortable king sized bed! Overlooking the beer garden and authentic German food . Be aware that Friday is fish fry night, even at kegels inn, so plan your taste buds accordingly. The neighborhood has a lot of delicious restaurants. Leave some room for some fabulous Bloody Mary's!!
The Hubs and I would stay again when we're in the are. Great memories!
The rooms were very cozy and had what was needed to eat in or out. The first room's air conditioning wasn't working and the owner very quickly got us moved into another unit. Owners also dropped off more towels. Loved the old woodwork and tiled bathroom. Close to driving to many things or taking an Uber. Close to street so could hear cars but that doesn't bother us, quiet at night. Nice stay. Enjoyed ourselves greatly.
Junky. Closet had broken air conditioner, junk on the floor, no hair dryer, mold on shower curtain. Swamp cooler and a fan. In the sleeping room. From the VRBO pictures it looked like there was a small eat in kitchen. Not true.
It was a nice and pleasant stay with options to go out or stay in. The restaurant below was authentic. My wife and I had a chance to try food we have never had. We will be returning to this location at different different times of the year to experience the festivals.
Cozy fun atmosphere very welcoming. Room is very hot during warm weather though even w an air unit. Overall great time. We’d love to go back maybe during cooler weather.
