This rural, family friendly escape is tucked in a wooded setting making it a cozy, quiet getaway where you will likely spot a variety of woodland wildlife. An active bald eagle’s nest is situated on the edge of the property, and they can occasionally be seen flying over the pond, especially early mornings or evenings.
Recently renovated, the house has updated kitchen and bathrooms with the charm of original construction including barnwood accents and a field stone fireplace. While there are several excellent local dining options, the kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials if you opt to serve up your own homemade meals.
There are three spacious bedrooms. The first has a queen bed, an en-suite bathroom, a 43” smart TV, and beautiful pond views. The next has two beds-one full, one queen-and an abundance of natural light. The third bedroom is furnished with a twin-over-full bunk bed and a full bed as well as a twin trundle bed if extra sleeping space is needed. This room has a selection of kids’ toys, blocks, and books to entertain some of our young-or young at heart-guests.
There is a bathroom with tub-shower conveniently positioned between the bedrooms. Another half bath is located close to the family areas.
Along with the open kitchen layout, the house has two living areas. The first is next to the front entry and adjacent to the kitchen. This space includes a 55” smart TV and views that oversee the driveway and woods. The second is a cozy area with several barnwood accents, a field stone fireplace (electric), and remarkable views of the backyard and pond. There is a 43” smart TV and a desk supplied with basic office necessities.
Washer, dryer, and ironing accessories are provided and can be found in the laundry room which also has unique barnwood cabinets. Walking through the laundry room leads you to a quiet, screened-in porch overlooking the backyard and pond.
Guests have access to garage parking spots along with parking in front of the house. Ramp entry into the house is also located in the garage.
-Location-
While the property is in a rural area, it is only 7.3 miles (10-minute drive) off Interstate I39/90 (Janesville) and is located between Milton (5 miles) and Whitewater (9.1 miles), each a short drive away and both of which have grocery, shopping, and restaurant options. The UW-Whitewater campus is an easy 12-minute drive (9.3 miles). Venturing a few miles further will take you to Janesville (11 miles to downtown) or Delavan (19 miles) where the selection of stores and restaurants is even greater.
We live locally and would gladly recommend local favorites or be able to promptly assist if any issues should come up. This house has been in our family since its construction in 1978. It has lots of character and we can’t wait to share it with you.
Note: The pond located on the property boasts beautiful views and attracts many entertaining species of wildlife. It is, however, shallow with no direct water source so there are very few (if any) fish. Unfortunately, it is not suitable for fishing or swimming.
Note: Your safety matters. This property features exterior cameras around the perimeter-one at each point of entry including a video doorbell monitoring the front door. All cameras face out and no interior spaces are viewable. The cameras may record video or sound when activated by motion.
