Nature getaway with conveniences of home
I cannot say enough. We will be back. The property is amazing, 10 minute walk to the river. No one is allowed to build on the river or have stairs, so they have a “natural” path with dug out steps with flat rocks. It’s about a 10-15 foot decent. Worth every step! We tied a rope across and tied our tubes up and floated for the week. The beds were comfortable, bedding was good, towels provided, and all your basics at your fingertips. The grocery stores were 15 minutes away and the size of a large pharmacy. The hot tub was perfect, the water pressure in the shower was good. Ashira and the dogs were very welcoming and helpful.

Wonderful place to get away
Our stay at Blue River Valley was AMAZING! We chose the property due to it being close to our family that lives in the area. We'll return to the property because of our wonderful experience. It began with the communication with Ashira. She is prompt and efficient in her responses. During our stay she continued to communicate with us, checking to see if needed anything and always exuding "Hoosier Hospitality". The house is a 1900's farm has that has been remodeled but has kept it historic charm. Coming from New Mexico, we felt at home with the southwest decor. The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable, as was the bedding. Our son, daughter-in-law and grandkids stayed over a couple of nights and found that the upstairs bedrooms comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a gas grill. We were able to host a family gathering of 14 people with ease. The big porch on the back of the house was a perfect spot for gathering or relaxing. The grounds were the absolute star of the show for us. Sitting on the back porch drinking coffee while watching a rain storm, the fog burn off or wildlife ambling through. In the evenings, the pond was full of frogs and toads calling out which provided a soothing concert. The trails on the grounds are well kept. We spent an entire day at the beach on the river. It was incredibly peaceful and healing.

Cute and cozy
The property and home are absolutely beautiful!! Hiking trails lead back to a river, very peaceful and calm location. A few things to note: Property managers were present to mow the property, while we were in the hot tub and one day to harvest lavender. The hot tub didn't work well, there was a constant error on the control panel. Which was fine because it wasn't very clean and the water was a little slimy so we didn't stay in long. The beds are not very comfortable. Hiking trail that leads to the river, described to us as a "small hill". I know everyone's perception is different but this was not a small hill!! It was a very angled decline with metal posts spaced just enough apart from the trees and rocks to guide you down and up again. We did it, it was beautiful!! Just wanted to give a different perspective of the "small hill" for those who may have challenges with mobility and age groups. Overall we had a fantastic time!! It was quite and peaceful, shared lots of laughs and created new memories. Thank you for the hospitality.

A Tranquil Eclipse at Blue River Valley Farm
Nestled in the serene embrace of southern Indiana's rolling landscapes, Blue River Valley Farm provided a pastoral retreat for our celestial adventure. With its sprawling 120 acres, owned by the welcoming Young family, the farm offered a picturesque backdrop to witness the solar eclipse—a natural spectacle that became even more memorable thanks to the untouched beauty of this location. The Youngs' warmth and generosity were evident from the outset. Their decision to maintain an affordable rate during the eclipse event spoke volumes about their integrity and commitment to accessible hospitality. The thoughtful provision of fresh farm eggs from their chickens added a delightful touch of home-grown charm to our stay. Our accommodations in the charming farmhouse married rustic appeal with comprehensive amenities. A hot tub beckoned for relaxation under the open sky, firewood was ready for hearth and pit, and the well-stocked kitchen awaited our culinary exploits. The absence of internet was a hidden blessing, encouraging us to truly unplug and immerse ourselves in the moment, enhancing our experience by fostering genuine connection. The farm's remote tranquility and proximity to a meandering river presented endless opportunities for exploration and discovery—from fossil hunting to simply reveling in the open space. As a pet-friendly property, it was a joy to watch our dogs embrace the freedom of farm life.

A wonderfully peaceful getaway
I booked this property to take my mom on a little getaway for her 80th birthday in June and we couldn't have been happier! Ashira and her sweet husband were so gracious and friendly during our visit. We arrived in the middle of a severe storm (tornadoes hit close-by) and Ashira kept in contact all day to keep track of our progress. Once we were close we had to stop due to hail and she messaged me to let me know that they had checked the road to ensure it was clear for us. We finally got to the location and she was waiting for us, concerned due to the weather and it felt like our guardian angel was waiting! Storms knocked the power out and within minutes they brought a generator for us to make sure we'd have the comforts of home despite mother nature's fury that day. After that our stay was just what we wanted and needed- peaceful and serene with beautiful views of the hills in the area. I took one of my pups on the well-maintained trails on the property leading back to the Blue River and we enjoyed our little woods excursion. If you want to truly get away from the hustle and madness of daily city life this is THE place for you! The house was very clean and well appointed with everything you could need or want stocked for you (just bring yourself and groceries.) This was my first VRBO booking and it was a fantastic experience for mom and I in the peaceful country setting. Thank you Ashira and Richard and we'll be back to see you as soon as possible!!!!

Awesome place to unplug!
Absolutely loved our stay. Should’ve stayed longer. The property was great and we thoroughly enjoyed hiking and exploring the entire property. The walks to the river to enjoy the scenery were very nice. Ending each night with a fire in the fire pit and a soak in the hot tub we’re just what we needed. Communication with the owner was very good and she provided us with farm fresh eggs from her chickens and wood for the fire pit. Loved just sitting on the back porch listening to nature with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. We will be back.

A beautiful peaceful property
It was the perfect place to unwind and relax after spending our days at the Kentucky Derby. The drive to Louisville was about 45 mins, mostly rural areas and not much traffic. The property is beautiful and peaceful. My favorite part was relaxing in the hot tub after busy days, looking up at the stars and listening to nothing but the evening air.

Beautiful getaway!
My husband and I stayed for a little getaway and had a very relaxing time. Our first night was incredible as we soaked in the hot tub under a blanket of stars. We enjoyed walking the property's trails, preparing all of our meals in the well stocked kitchen, and making a warm fire in the wood stove. We felt rejuvenated at the end of our stay. Ashira was a wonderful host and very attentive. Thanks for a great stay!

What a gem! My family had a wonderful time here. Thank you for sharing your property with us. The love and care you put into all the details was evident. Farm fresh eggs such a wonderful touch! Having wood for the fire pit made campfire time easy and was really appreciated. Would love to see upgrade to the bed mattresses at some point, but that's really minor. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful Experience
This is a beautiful property and we had a great time. We played in the river, searched for fossils, made bonfires, listened to the birds and the neighbors cows, and walked the trails. Ashira is a great host! Our kids fed the chickens and koi, and fell in love with the dogs. The house is nice, and was much better than being in a cramped hotel room.

We had an amazing stay at Blue River Valley Farm. The house was clean and cozy, and we enjoyed exploring the property as well as taking some time to unplug and just relax. The host, Ashira, was super helpful and responsive and even took care of our dog while we went into Louisville for the day.
