NASCAR all star weekend
Me and my son stayed here for the 2024 NASCAR all star weekend end. The cabin was very nice,clean and well stocked. Would definitely stay here again. 👍👍

Amazing lookout lodge
There are so many good things to say about the Lookout Lodge. The view was absolutely amazing, the lodge had everything we needed and the host was great. We are already looking forward to another stay!

The house and the views were great! Loved reading about the history and seeing how it was remodeled. The house was still decorated for Christmas which made it even more special. The house had everything we needed. We had a great time!

The house was great. Everything needed for a quick getaway was there. It was exceptionally clean. Each bedroom had a cute theme. The history of the property was fascinating. The view from the back deck is a winner. We enjoyed our stay.

Perfect mountain getaway
We had the most magical time at the lookout lodge, the location is driving distance to so many beautiful sites. The cabin is perfectly stocked with everything you need. Our entire trip was rained out and our experience was still incredible! Fun fact, the county has a tackle rental program if you want to trout fish you can rent tackle from the TLP program.

lovely stay with incredible views!
We so enjoyed our stay! The house was fully equipped with everything we needed and very comfortable. The back deck and the view of the mountains is absolutely stunning! not to be missed! The location was a little unusual but its proximity to the blue ridge parkway more than made up for it. Jack was a wonderful host and very responsive. Highly recommend!

Merlefest Weekend
The property was perfect for the four day Merlefest event. We have stayed in four different homes in the last five years and was by far our favorite. The Lodge has easy access, well maintained, property manager sincerely concerned with your satisfaction, and the home is detailed to meet personal needs. We will have a repeat stay.

Weekend respite
The views were awesome and rivaled those on the Parkway. We spent a lot of time on the deck. The cabin is perfect for a larger group but not too big for just the two of us. You're just a short distance to West Jefferson, should you choose to explore. For us this was a perfect place for our weekend respite. I hope we can return soon.

We chose this property for a weekend trip to visit our oldest daughter who is a student at App State. We were a little surprised by the front of the property when we first arrived. However, the rental was just what we needed for our family to spend some quality time together. We enjoyed the AMAZING views from the back deck and the kitchen had everything we needed for family meals. We loved the history of the property and appreciate Jack’s promptness in responding to our messages. Thank you for a wonderful weekend get away!

Comfy and convenient
We enjoyed staying at this property. It is just off a main road, so there is some traffic noise, but it did not deter from the experience. Our family jumped on the parkway and hiked a short section of the MST since it was so close to the property. We also visited Boone and the Beech Mountain areas which were just a short trip away. It is also very close to West Jefferson, which has a lot of shops and areas to check out. At the end of each day, the cabin was relaxing to return to and enjoy the sights off of the back deck.

Great view, kitchen & bathrooms have every basic need you'll need ( even had sticks for cooking marshmallows over a fire). Snack station was appreciated. Firepit & firewood was used for smores making. I could've spent all day on the deck listening to the birds. Owner was very diligent during our stay. So much detail went into this home. Only thing was the coffee machine; it had the coffee pot & k-cup components but the k-cup part didn't work. Additionally, coffee machine needed a thorough washing since it looked like guests before us reused the coffee pot water to make a new pot of coffee.

Beautiful view and easy access
While a number mountain cabins in West North Carolina and Southern Virginia may require a 4WD to access the property, this one is very easy to get to. With a million-dollar view, this cozy and comfortable 3BR cabin is set up for vacationers. When you arrive, you will not be competing to make your memories in an environment full of someone else's personal belongings. The owner cleverly appointed their place to provide a welcoming energy with smart use of space. Very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Rodies Cafe just a couple miles in Glendale Springs (with an amazing local made crafts and gift shop next door), West Jefferson and Boone a short drive away. Our group of 6 were able to enjoy our time and dine together. The place spacious enough with the layout and deck to spread out as well. Kitchen was stocked with cookware and spices. Bathrooms had plenty of towels and some extra toiletries as well. We enjoyed a great game of Scrabble from the games provided. The gas fireplace was welcome during the chilly weekend. We will definitely use this place for family guests in the future. We were more than satisfied with our stay. Thank you!

A definite must stay!
Our stay at this home was absolutely wonderful. It was immaculately clean and fully stocked with everything we could possibly need. From the moment we booked in August, the communication with the hosts was exceptional—they responded promptly to every message. Unfortunately, a flood hit Western NC just before our vacation, but the hosts stayed in touch daily, keeping us updated on the power situation and local conditions. Thankfully, the power was restored the night before our trip, and the hosts even went to the house themselves to ensure everything was in order before we made the 4.5-hour drive from the coast. Check-in and check-out were seamless, making the entire process stress-free. The only minor concern was the proximity to the road, but it didn’t take away from our experience. At night, the only traffic noise we noticed was the occasional loud vehicle like a tractor-trailer. The view from the back deck was simply breathtaking, and we're already planning our next trip back. We will definitely be staying at Lookout Lodge again!

Great view, great host service
We arrived shortly after the hurricane and didn't have any power or water at the house. Jack, the host, stayed in constant touch with us and worked to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We were attending a wedding, so didn't have a choice whether to stay or not. With that said, the house was really nice, lots of special touches and beatiful view from the back porch. This used to be a bar, so the history behind the rennovation made it even more enjoyable. The rental is right on Hwy 16, so some car noises, but not a big deal that affected our stay.
