My husband, sister, and I, along with our two dogs, stayed for a few days over Thanksgiving. This is such a unique property! It’s very quiet and you get to be close to nature. We were able to wake up and see the cows every morning. :-)
I traveled back up here from our home on the coast. What made this special was getting to see the Watusi and being in such a private loaction. It happened to be exactly what we needed on this rainy November weekend. We went to Fort Toulous's Frontier Days and ate at Montgomery's Volcano Hot Pot restauraunt.
Another assett was the clean, nostalgic setup of the cabin and the DVD collection. I showed Nathan the movie Little Miss Sunshine, and he showed me Life Aquatic. We woke up the next morning and had dad coffee from the setup on the kitchen and then went to the porch and identified every bird we could hear. It was all just right.
We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the Watusi Hotel. And Dave was a very friendly host. He made it very easy for us to stay there.
We did find a challenging to cook, however, because of the limited kitchen implements. Some suggestions of what would have been helpful to have in the kitchen include: glasses, more coffee cups, cutting board, bowls, salad bowl, spatula, etc. We would think twice about staying there again because we do like to cook.
Otherwise, it was wonderful. Thank you so much.
