Recently renovated and very comfortable. Continental breakfast we weren't expecting which was great. Nothing to do in the area though unless you like fishing. The staff were very friendly

We stayed in a family room, which is a self-contained unit with two bedrooms, a lounge / dining / kitchenette area, and beautiful views over the grounds towards the Great Lake. We had a variety of wildlife right outside our windows, and the Great Lake Hotel / Miena Village was the perfect base for our Central Highlands adventure.

The Great Lake Hotel lies way up on the central plateau and hence is a great place to explore this alpine wilderness. If you like trout fishing there is ample choice. Regarding the Hotel, rooms are very comfortable, staff are so friendly, restaurant is good and the wallabies are a delight in the evening. This is a great place to relax for a few days.
